The Clearwater Air Force Base has been a center for air force deployments for over fifty years. The deployment history of the Clearwater Air Force Base is reflective of theServicemen and Women of the United States Air Force (USAF). The USAF deployed to Clearwater in 1951 as part ofOperation Vanguard which was aimed at attacking North Korea. The AFB played an important role during Operation Desert Storm in 1991 when it hosted Morehead City Airport as well as other airfields in Florida. Since its activation, the AFB has supported numerous operations and deployments including Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Noble Eagle, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2013, the US Embassy relocated from Miami to Clearwater. As part of this move, the USAF activated Camp Lemonnier on Naval Station Atalanta which overlooks Clearwater Harbor. Clearwater is a city located in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. The population was 381 at the 2010 census. Clearwater is part of the Tampa-St Petersburg-Ponte Vedra Peninsula Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is one of the fastest growing cities in America and it has been steadily experiencing growth for more than a decade. The history of Clearwater can be traced back to 1875 when developer John A. Flaherty built a dry dock on Clearwater Bay that served as the port for his fishing and shipping business. In 1907, Flaherty donated land to build what became Clearwater Elementary School; and in 1928, he donated land to establish Clearwater Junior High School which later merged with Stonington High School to become Clearwaters Senior High School. The city's first mayor was Wirt Hargrave who served from 1925 until 1931. In 1955, Mayor Roy Gamez designated Harbor Boulevard as the official downtown street name; and in 1957, City Manager Jens Petersen recommended that City Hall be moved from its original location on Pine Street to an office building across the bay on Harbor Boulevard; this recommendation was approved by City Council but not implemented because it would have required moving City Hall staff from their current quarters on Pine Street into an extensive new building funded byFlaherty himself about which no plans had yet been made at that time. In 1978, developers Calvert and McFarlane purchased tracts of land along Harbor Boulevard from Mayor Gamez in order to develop what would become known as "The Promenade". This development saw heavy construction throughout the early 1980s due to its potential significance as both a commercial center for local businesses and also as a major redevelopment project for Hillsborough County which at that time included much of Tampa Bay. By 1990, most of The Promenade had been developed with high-rise buildings including One Financial Center (now OneBridge), two Marriott hotels (Marriott Marquis & Starwood Preferred Guest Resort), several shopping centers (Champions Market Plaza & ClubMed Plaza) and several office towers (Florida Tower/Tampa Office Park). By 1999 only a small portion remained undeveloped with several small businesses occupying low rise buildings near Interstate 495 exit 13A known locally as 'the Gap'. However effective planning efforts by then-Mayor Charlie Crist led to significant revitalization success including completion of dozens of new restaurants, stores and condos within five years after Hurricane Andrew destroyed much neighboring infrastructure;[2] creating what would come to be known as 'The Promenade District' complete with large public spaces such as Pier 2nd Avenue where streets converge into one massive space just east of Live Oak Bridge before continuing down azure waters towards US 1/World Trade Center Expressway "What began life simply as clear water between some warehouses became home base for many people who live or work here today." -Joey Burchfield

Conway ordered an all-encompassing review of USAF gift history, he noticed something unique about the way gifts were given. He wanted to insure that every member had access to special privileges and opportunities while serving in the military. This led to the development of Deployed Gift History (DGH). DGH allows commanders to give unwrapped items such as clothes or toys to their troops at home or abroad on deployment. It also provides an opportunity for service members who have received a gift from someone in uniform with valuable insights into military life. Additionally, DGH helps promote positive relationships between service members and their families back at home by providing insight into what makes each individual trooper tick. These insights help build better camaraderie within units and improve morale overall during deployments – two critical factors during wartime. Today, DGH is still a vital part of USAF gift history programming. Commander’s Awards ceremonies are now held annually at major metropolitan locations throughout America so soldiers can experience these special occasions firsthand while honoring their comrades who have served our countrymen extensively over years past!

The area now known as Clearwater was first inhabited by the Seminole Indians. The English established a small trading post in what is now Clearwater in 1763, and the town was founded on December 16, 1821. In 1907, Clearwater became part of the mainland United States and changed its name to Tampa.
