The history of artisan coffee is a long and varied one. As coffee became more popular in the late 1800s, small businesses began to take notice and produce their own unique blends and coffees. Some of these businesses were so successful that they grew into empires, such as Starbucks and Peet's Coffee. As coffee moved from Africa to South America, it started to be traded between different regions. One of the first areas where this trade occurred was Mexico City. There, merchants began to buy beans from farmers in the area and roast them themselves. This process gave birth to what is now known as café de la Condesa—the first place where someone could buy certificado de ropa originaria (certificate of origin) coffee. Café della Condesa became an important landmark in the history of artisan coffee because it helped define how people perceived quality when it came to caffeine and flavor. The beans that were roasted there were also some of the best-quality that exist today.
The first artisan coffee was made at the Newark, New Jersey home of Nicholas-Jacques Conte in 1795. The first espresso machine was created by Angelo Morini in 1807.
Clearwater is a town in Broward County, Florida, United States. The population was 7,858 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami-Dade metropolitan area. The town was founded on December 15, 1894 by W. H. Clearwater and Dora Jepsen as "Clearwater Beach", after Battery Park City in New York City's Upper West Side which had been abandoned for lack of water resources. By 1915 it had become an organized village with a post office and store. A year later, Clearwater also became the first incorporated municipality in Broward County when it ratified a charter from the State of Florida. In 1928 Clearwater annexed land east of Coconut Creek to form what would become Coconut Creek Village; this annexation removed much of the need for response to boater traffic along the creek due to its width - boats could navigate only so close without getting clogged up with shore people or fishing equipment that needed to be unloaded before continuing downstream (a common practice then). In 1930 Clearwater beach commissioners voted not to annex any more land as they were "not interested." One reason given was that they did not want developers building homes and businesses on their beach – there were already enough developed areas in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and Fort Lauderdale just south of them – but annexation would have allowed additional development at no cost to residents until such time as voters approved a special referendum allowing such development through voting approval basis only if necessary for public safety or economic development purposes; however this referendum never took place becauseBroward County declined to establish an elected board for county beaches effective that year despite heavy lobbying from developer John Pemberton who wanted his own barrier island off Clearwater known as Pembroke Isle due north of where he lived on Cutler Bayou near Ft Myers Beach). Clearwater is a city in Monroe County, Florida, United States and the seat of Clearwater Beach. The population was 4,953 at the 2010 census. The city was founded in 1881 by John G. Holland as a small trading post on Clearwater River. It grew rapidly due to its location on the mouth of the St Johns River and its access to cargo ships docking at Clearwater Bay. In 1924, Clearwater became an incorporated city with limits on how much it could increase in population or size without prior voter approval. In 1954, Clearwater annexed portions of neighboring Pompano Beach and made itself the only municipality in Monroe County with no boundaries between its municipalities. As such, it became an established suburb of Miami-Dade County for residents living within its borders - even though it remains part of Monroe County tax rolls and government services are provided through Pompano Beach Village Council members rather than through Clearwater City Council members
