Clermont, Florida has been a center for coffee production since the early 1800s. The first coffee beans were roasted in this area and today, Clermont is known for its fresh-roasted coffee. Coffee production began to grow in Clermont after Spanish settlers arrived in the 18th century, and later, Portuguese colonists followed. Today, there are more than 200 small-scale roasters located throughout the Clermont area, including several that focus exclusively on fresh-roasted coffee. The origins of fresh-ground coffee date back to when farmers in the region ground their own beans. By the early 1800s, however, a process had been developed whereby whole beans were roasted by a cooperator before they were exported to Europe. The use of this process allowed for a much finer grind and resulted in better flavor than if such beans were ground at home. By 1840, entire forests had been devoted to growing coffee trees in what is now Clermont County; this led to an increased demand for quality beans from European markets. With its proximity to major metropolitan areas and access to raw materials like woodchips and dirt, Blountstown became one of the most important areas for coffee production in America during this time period. In 1850, human populations reached their peak in North America; as result, large plantations were established across South Carolina and Georgia due to the high demand for slave labor during that period. However, because slavery was abolished in America following our victory over British colonialism (1863), these plantations quickly collapsed – one reason why so many small-scale roasters have sprung up throughout Central Florida since then! In addition to providing jobs for local residents during difficult times (like Reconstruction), plantation agriculture also contributed significantly to Stonington’s nickname “Coffee City” nearly two centuries later! During the 18th century, French traders discovered Ethiopian coffee and began importing it into France. In 1795-96, Napoleon Bonaparte ordered his army to march on Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s capital city. When they arrived, he found that many of the people living in Addis Ababa had no access to food because of the war with Russia that had just started two months earlier. To provide food for his troops, Bonaparte ordered some lapland farmers to bring back fresh roasted coffeebeans from Ethiopia. This event is often considered as one of the most significant moments in Ethiopian history because it provided sustenance for troops fighting against Russian forces during the War of 1812 (known as The Great War). After World War II ended in 1945, much attention was given to developing new technologies related to postwar reconstruction in Africa including technology transfer from United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) through International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). In addition to providing countries such as Ethiopia with new technology which helped them build modern industrial societies after centuries of poverty and colonialism, IAEA also played an important role by providing technical assistance forrescent African countries such as South Africa during apartheid period between 1948-1994. Clermont is a city in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 9,562 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Polk County. Clermont is located on the Stono River and borders Lake Butler to the east and west. The first human settlement in present-day Clermont was made by prospectors on August 8, 1837, when John Pemberton and James Ketchum discovered gold medals from Mexico along the Stono River. The discovery led to an influx of miners and settlers who founded rectangular villages around Prospector's Post near what is now downtown Clermont. Clermont was platted as a town on November 1, 1859 by JF Byrnes with Wm Hite as its first mayor. The town became part of Polk County on February 14, 1865 when it was organized from parts of Muskegon and Wayne counties. The post office at Prospector's Post continued operation until it closed on December 12th, 1907 due to lack of customers; however mail still reached Clermont residents until 1909 when the Union Pacific Railroad came through town and brought daily mail service into central Florida. According to the US Census Bureau, there are 9,562 people living in Clermont proper (excluding unincorporated areas), 5982 residents residing in annexed communities within Polk County (Boydville-Clearbrook Park-Eastpointe Heights-Lake Butler-Leesburg), 3362 residents residing outside of Polk County (Albany Beach-Apopka Springs-Bradenton Beach-Cimarron Hills-Dunnellon Beach-Fort Myers Beach-Gainesville Beach/Nassau Bayou Clubhouse/Pinellas Park/Sarasota Bayou Clubhouses), 463 people who live off orchards or farm land in neighboring Clearbrook ParkCounty and 5 people who work for the federal government in Ottawa Township (representing 2% of all employed persons). According to the 2000 US Census partial count data available online at www2.census.gov/, there are 10 current residents registered with VoteVet Inc., which provides early voting services for citizens aged 17 years or older who reside inside or outsideOfPolk County before Election Day(November 6th). In 2002 CLermont voters approved a charter amendment which granted them full voting rights within their own city limits since then they have been able to elect their own City Manager & Mayor just like any other municipality withinCLermontcity limits

In 1907, a casino was opened in downtown Clermont by James Fenton and it quickly became one of Tampa's most popular tourist attractions. It closed in 1923 but has since been re-opened as an art museum with galleries adjacent to its original Casino floorplan
