The Coast Guard has been providing security and assistance to the citizens of Cocoa since 1951. The service is distinctive in that it is one of the few government agencies that continuously operates within the boundaries of a city. The Coast Guard Auxiliary, which was created in 1931, provides support for the Coast Guard through its member agencies. In 2009, the Coast Guard welcomed its 1,000th officer into service. This number reflects both the growth of the Coast Guard as an institution and its dedication to protecting our coastlines and maritime interests. The history of gift giving to the Coast Guard can be traced back to World War II when American seamen donated goods such as radios and uniforms in order to help their allies during hostilities. After World War II, gifts continued to be given in an effort to support maritime endeavors including donations from businesses and individuals alike. During this time period, there were many different types of gifts available such as clothing, tools, equipment, food items, etc., all intended to assist with missions or improve operational efficiency. In 1969, when Cocoa became a City Limits Municipality under Florida’s Municipal Affairs Law 2-3-19 (Cocoa Beach), it was decided that contributions from local residents would no longer be accepted by the City Clerk’s office but rather through donation drives set up by various groups within townspeople. As community members stepped up their donations throughout those years until 1995 when Hurricane Andrew destroyed much of downtown Cocoa Beach – including most of what remains today within city limits – it was determined that a more permanent collection would need to be made available for donation purposes beyond just incidentals like flashlight batteries or coffee filters needed for firefighting operations. That same year sawthe establishment ofthe Coast Guard Auxiliary which continues today as one of Cocoa’s most important institutions with jurisdiction over all aspects related to coastal security including law enforcement; marine operations; maintenance; fisheries research; humanitarian aid; disaster relief; public education; and special events/foundation work projects (such as building new Commanders Quarters at Station #1). Annual dues are now $50 per person/$100 per organization which allows organizations such as Rotary International Foundation ($500)and Salvation Army ($300)to contribute annually without having their name etched on stationery! In additionto regular Giving Month efforts like “Donate Now & Get A Discount” offered throughout November each year numerous One Day Giveaways are also held throughout December featuring unique items from stationery stores across America!

Cocoa, Florida is a town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 2,471 at the2010 census. Cocoa is part of the Orlando metropolitan area. The first European to visit what is now Cocoa was Captain John Johnson on July 4th 1754 and he named it "Jupiter". He had been exploring the Florida Keys when he came across this island. The first permanent settler in what is now Cocoa was George White who built his house on present day State Road A1A in 1834. In 1841, Colonel Augustus Pritchard founded Fort Pritchard and soon after began trading with Cuba and other parts of Central America. In 1851 a post office called Jupiter was opened and served until 1903 when it became known as Jacksonville. In 1907 the name of the town changed from Jupiter to Cocoa because Spanish settlers wanted their new town spelled correctly likeaya-koo-caa for all to know it as one place! In 1901, a railroad company called Southern Railway (later CSX) built a line from Tampa through Jacksonville to Key West which connected with the mainland US railways network making transportation easier for people moving between different parts of America during that time period. This made Cocoa an important stop on these railway lines helping grow its economy over time. By 1926 there were over 1,000 businesses in Cocoa employing more than 60% women! The end of World War II brought many changes to both the local economy and society as soldiers returned home and started families back into work setting up homes again after years of war bootstrapping each individual}. After 1945 many farms were abandoned due to lack of market demand; however by 1958 only 12 farms remained fertllized comprising less than 10% of all agricultural land within Polk County! In 1969 First Baptist Church moved into its current location on NW Third Street just east of I-4 exit 417 providing vital services such as education, social welfare and health care for many residents during that time period while also playing an integral role in developing downtown Cocoa into what it is today! Today's economy has been greatly impacted by Orlando's explosive growth since 2010 which has led to continued job growth along with increased competition for jobs amongst companies throughout central Florida - making cocoa one step closer becoming an international commodity center!
Cocoa, Florida was created on August 29, 1959 by the state of Florida as part of the Everglades National Park. The land for Cocoa was donated by Captain David Brower and his wife Norma Jean. In 1961, Brower formed the Miami-Dade County Water Management District to improve water resources in the area. On January 1, 1962, Cocoa became a city.
