The history of Coconut Creek Coffee Shop began with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Giannini who opened up their first store on Ponce de Leon Boulevard in Coconut Creek in 1978. They continued to operate their business until they were disbanded in 1992 when their son-in-law bought out their share of the business.Since then, the shop has been run by three different owners (Mr. Tom D’Angelo, Mr./Ms Suzanne English, and Ms Andrea DeJohn) until it was purchased by Patrick Donohue in 2006 who continued running the business until he died in October of that year at age 74 years old. Since Patrick's death, Mrs. Donohue has taken over management of coconut creek coffee shop while continuing to sell items from her collection including specialty beans and tea bags products as well as fresh roasted coffees every day.. In September 2007, Starbucks announced that it would be opening a third location near mile marker 281 on US Hwy 401 just outside of town center called "Coconut Creek Starbucks". The new store will feature an outdoor seating area complete with Starbucks baristas serving iced drinks and snacks such as donuts and bagels.."After more than 25 years living within walking distance of our favorite caffeine fixerupper - we knew we had to come see this place! It is located on the eastern coast of Florida between Jacksonville and Miami, and became a popular vacation spot for both locals and visitors during the early 1800s. The first coconut plantations were established in Coconut Creek in the early 19th century, and the town received its name from one of these plantations. By 1861, Coconut Creek had become an important commercial center due to its location on the Eastern Seashore Highway. The town experienced a period of growth during World War II when it became a key shipments point for munitions coming out of Europe. In recent years, Coconut Creek has become known as a retirement community with abundant beaches and cultural attractions. The history of Coconut Creek began with George W Cockerell who settled there in 1892 after moving from Georgia. He purchased land near what is now downtown Coconut creek to create what would eventually be called "the most beautiful home on earth." At that time, coconut trees were being grown abundantly throughout much of South Florida so Cockerell decided to build himself a plantation complete with slave labor to process the fruit. His plantation would remain operational until emancipation in 1865. During his time as owner, Cockerell also developed some influential business practices which continue to be followed today including offering free produce at local grocery stores derived from his plantation's resources; provisioning military units stationed nearby with supplies; leasing tracts of land away from neighboring landowners for farming; providing education opportunities for slaves; and providing medical care for their owners' slaves while they worked off their sentence or served their full term). During World War II, coconut creek saw significant activity due to its strategic location close to both war production plants and shipping terminals along the Eastern Seashore Highway. One such plant was run by Trust Company Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Co., Inc., which produced warships such as USS Coral Sea (LHD-1), USS Enterprise (CV-6)and USS Hornet (CV-8). Another major facility wasrun by Gulfport Naval Shipyard at Point Breeze where Axis submarines were built before they were bombed by UU2 over England on March 15th 1943 (). After the war ended, manyOf those jobs went elsewhere but Coconut creek continued trading goods alongside other small towns alongFlorida's coastline until around 2000 when it all cameto an end becauseof budget cuts made by then Governor Jeb Bush Sr.. In 2001-2002 new leadership tookover state government making changeshappening throughout central Florida Governor Jeb Bush Sr enacted legislation nullifying all prior approvals given to coconut creek development which caused muchrasistance among residents especially since many jobs had been lost thanks largely to Gov't cutbacks In 2003 Mayor Artemisa Gomez formed an opposition group that campaigned against Governor JebBush Sr's policies calling thema "politically motivated conspiracy" As things progressed more public opinion shifted towards supporting Mayor Gomez instead leading her teamwatershed victory over incumbent Mayor Artemisa Gomez later that year early2006 When Govt announced plans to demolish entire city limits she quickly mobilized her supporters within City Council chambersfollowing throughwitha massive fundraiser eventthat raised $500Kin just nine days later opposition leaderArtemisaGomez resignedfrom councilmembership effective immediately
