The history of the Coconut Creek National Guard is a long and colorful one. The first national guard unit was organized on October 15, 1907 when the Florida State Legislature created the Floridian National Guard to provide for military defense of state borders. The unit consisted of thirty-six officers and men. The Floridian National Guard was disbanded on December 10, 1912 due to budget cuts. However, it was reactivated on July 14, 1915 as part of World War I efforts by the then-Florida Territorial Governor Jefferson Davis to bolster federal support for war efforts in Europe. The Floridian National Guard served its full term until November 1918. After World War I ended, the Floridian National Guard was again disbanded on December 10, 1922 due to budgetary restrictions placed by then-Governor Keyes Wilson upon the state government at that time. However, it reorganized and became known as the Coconut Creek Guardsmen on January 1, 1923. On October 15th of each year since its inception in 1907, the Coconut Creek Guardsmen have come together to celebrate their heritage and history through parades and commemorative events throughout the community. These events often include an encampment orpicnic or celebration within town limits followed by a patriotic parade through downtown streets leading down MLK Boulevard into Government House Park fora fireworks display over Government House Park Lake after nightfall

These requirements may include being registered with a local sheriff’s department; having completed an education program leading to certification as a first responder; passing physical exams; meeting unit standards; experiencing simulated combat conditions for 10 hours per week for three months during average weather conditions; being able to speak English fluently; possessing proper insignia/badges/pets allowed on units when on active duty; proof of insurance coverage for personal property valued at $1 million or more per year if owned by member unit

Company D played an instrumental role in helping turn around Operation Crossroads and helped save many lives by fighting off enemy attacks
