Cooper City is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 24,533 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami–Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood metropolitan area. Cooper City is located on the southern edge of Biscayne Bay and is bordered by Everglades National Park to the north, Kendall Beach to the east, and Cutler Bay to the south. The earliest known inhabitants of what is now Cooper City were Caciques or Timucua Indians who lived near present-day downtown Miami until 1492 when they were forced out by Spanish forces under Juan Ponce de León. In 1838, John Wesley Craddock founded what would become Cooper City on land he had purchased from the Timucua Indians. The first post office in town was established in 1839. By 1847, there were more than 30 stores and 100 residents in Cooper City. A school was established in 1849 which served students from Grady Heights (now Coral Gables) as well as Cooper City itself until 1906 when it became part of Miami University; since then it has been operated byMiami Dade Schools District #1. In 1861 Captain Charles Goodyear founded Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company on State Road 7 near Little Havana; Goodyear's original plant still stands today across from Interstate 95 just off US 41 near mile marker 238). The company grew rapidly and soon produced tires for both wagons and locomotives all over America including those used on Grant Wood's "The Great American Photo Album" (# 36), published in 1912 After years of growth and expansion Goodyear decided to open a manufacturing plant outside Indianapolis in 1927 but due to World War II production halted there too because of shortages caused by changes within American industry brought about by war effort efforts alike . Afterward goodyear restarted production at their old plant inside Indianapolis with new equipment but again stopped when WWII ended . After that another period where production stalled out because there weren't any wars going on before finally starting up again around 1960 with mostly for military use only after that didProduction recommence normalcy aside from some layoffs during 1991 recession Even though large companies have relocation rates much lower than small businesses they often find themselves hard hit during economic downturns like this one as big companies are able to move employees quickly while smaller businesses can't always do so leaving them vulnerable especially if their product isn't highly sought after or popular enough like many things made famous such as Nike shoes being discontinued due retailers not wanting them anymore)During these times local business owners try whatever they can do make ends meet without having job security but sometimes even that isn't enough

Cooper City is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 3,682 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. The Cooper City community began as a small farming town on the banks of the Cascais River in 1917. A post office was established in 1919 and named for Thaddeus H. Cooper, who had donated land to make the town locationable and provide pasture for cattle. The first store was built in 1923 on Center Street by Wm. Fenton & Sons grocery store proprietors Jocko McIntyre and Harry Schaefer. By 1928, there were six stores and eighty residents within the limits of Cooper City - all but one of them retail businesses that served local farmers and their families until after World War II when manufacturing jobs took over as Cooper City's economy diversified into new fields such as electronics, furniture, textiles and paper products. In 1948, citrus production became an important economic factor with establishment of a citrus cooperative based in nearby Miramar which became known as "The Fruit Factory" due to its production of oranges from fruit trees acquired from other cooperatives throughout south Florida during this time period In 1957-1958 both houses of the Miami-Dade County Board were controlled by Democrats with Mayor Manuel Diaz serving as headcounty administrator; however fences along Northwest 7th Avenue (now Northwest 105th Street) kept out most African Americans who would commute into downtown Miami to work or take buses to avoid segregated transportation facilities at that time After many years operating separately under two different management systems merged on January 1st 1958 becoming "The Community Consolidated Corporation". This company controlled twenty five stores including eleven major department stores then did business under various names throughout South Florida including: CCM/Havana (1959-1960), Metropolitan COOPER CITY (1960-1968), Coral Gables COOPER CITY (1968-1975), Cooper Creek COOPER CITY (1975-1978) before finally being renamed "Cooper University" effective September 2nd 1978 . From its inception until it merged with Regal Mall Corporation in 1987 it operated eighteen times under various banners including: CCU/Miami Dade BEACH(1977-1981), MetroCOOPER CITY(1981-1987), Coral Gables COOPER CITY(1987-) before finally being rebranded "Cooper University again" effective September 2nd 1987 During this time period The Community Consolidated Corporation also developed what are now called Downtown streetscape features such as sidewalks, damage control fencing etcetera designed to encourage people of color to shop or live Downtown while white shoppers patronized Main Street retail areas outside those boundaries Today Downtown Cooper City continues to grow with several new development projects underway such as Alliant Energy Center plans for 5 million square feet (+500 jobs) located just east of NW 107th street between NW 10th Ave & 11th Ave., Town Square project across from Pompano Beach Oceanfront Boulevard terminal housing up to 1 million square feet (+300 jobs) plus associated shops and residential units potential for hotel condominiums also underway along NW 107th St

In 1951, the city lost its charter because it did not meet certain requirements set by the state government. However, it regained its charter in 1957 after reaching an agreement with the state government that exempted it from some of its requirements
