Coral Gables is a town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 23,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami–Fort Lauderdale–West Palm Beach metropolitan area. The first coffee shop in Coral Gables opened on Washington Avenue in 1912 and it was called the American Coffee Company. In 1924, a small roastery and grocery store called The Dutch Bros. began selling coffee from their location on Northwest First Street near present-day University Drive. This cafe served as a meeting place for leaders of the social clubs that populated Coral Gables at this time. In 1929, Harry Fenton founded Boca Coffee Company with his brother Fred Fenton and Ronniescope Bros., two brothers who owned an ice cream parlor in nearby Jupiter, Florida to distribute Boca Coffee's beans to local merchants and residents throughout Dade County and Broward County. When Harry becamepresident of Boca Coffee Company he decided to open a coffee house on Coral Gables Boulevard instead of concentrating all production at their Jupiter plant which would have been too noisy for neighbors on Southwest First Street (now NW 7th Ave.). He named the store "Boca Cafe" in honor of his brother Fred who had helped start the company along with Ronnie Scopes Cook II (1902-1990). In 1948, Donahue's Drugstore chain opened its first store in Miami Beach; it was followed by Donahue's Cafeteria Chain) which opened its second store just south of where Boca Cafe now stands on Northwest First Street across frombroward high school (nowBroward Middle School). During this time there were also several convenience stores located around town that sold Jell Oven Pancakes (later known as Wonder Bread), coke products and other food items such as candy bars from newly opening restaurants including Zabar's Pizza Place(opened 1951), Panera Bread(opened 1957)and IHOP(opened 1958). Many families living near Navy Yard (site of today’s hospital) started bringing their children to school each morning before walking to Panera Bread or Zabar’s where they bought lunch for their families before going back home again during lunchtime; these schools were known as “Marine Barracks Schools” because many Marines lived adjacent to them during World War II when Naval Base Miami was built nearby on land leased from Field Marshal Manuel Lázaro García de la Torre y Menéndez Promesas. These schools are now Little Havana Elementary School[Northwest Fourth St]and LaGuardia Community High School [N 1st St]. Today’s Marine Barracks Schools remain important parts of our community history while today’s Little Havana Elementary School conducts lessons about democracy through robotics assemblies using Google Home devices! By 1963, both Panera Bread & Zabar's had closed down leaving just one grocer remaining near what is now Government Center Mall - Donahue's Grocery Store [NW Second Ave]. However due to aggressive marketing by then new owner Bob Chappell & Co., Donahue's reopened under new management with increased seating inside & outside; old locations like Marine Barracks Schools were used as storage space for produce until John Ralston Purina Corporation moved into the former Naval BaseMiami sitein 1978 and tore down most of those structures leaving only Marine Barracks High School still standing today! In fact eventoday Marine Barracks HS has been teaching students about world religions through drone assemblies using Google Home devices! That same year another brand newcomer - Starbucks - opened its doors within walking distance of Government Center Mall after years being refused entry by Donahue's! After more than 20 years Starbucks finally became available inside Government CenterMall! It is part of the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-Pompano Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name Coral Gables comes from a Spanish word meaning "gilded coral." The town was founded by Cuban American brothers Alberto and Isidro Ramos in 1912 on land they had purchased from Captain José Márquez de Cuellar. They named their new town after their mother's birthplace of Córdoba, Argentina, which they had visited as a child. In 1924 the brothers added another street to the town - Avenue Añejo - in memory of their father who had died two years earlier while serving in World War I with the U.S. Marines. In 1944 Coral Gables became an official city when it was annexed by Fort Lauderdale and became part of the newly formed county of Miami-Dade. As Coral Gables grew increasingly popular as a resort town for wealthy Americans during the 1930s and 1940s, it attracted other Caribbean immigrants such as Haitians and Filipinos also seeking refuge during hard times abroad or fleeing communism at home. By 1970 Coral Gables’ population reached 50% Hispanic; by 2000 it was over 60%. After Hurricane Andrew destroyed much of Miami-Dade County on August 25th 1998, many people chose to move away from what were then called "lost causes" like Coral Gables because there were now options available for them outside Miami Dade County limits provided they could find a home that would be affordable and maintain some degree of privacy within its boundaries (i.e., not belong to property owned or managed by county officials). This migration created one of South Florida's most vibrant neighborhoods today – Little Havana – which still retains much vestige of its original Cuban American community despite overwhelming gentrification trends throughout much ofMiami-Dade County since then (although Little Havana has made significant strides in recent years towards becoming more diverse).

In recent decades, espresso has even become a key ingredient in some high-quality blends like Mocha or Vanilla Latte (which often contain ground chocolate).

During World War II, much of what is now Coral Gables was bombed by American forces during the Battle of Biscayne Bay. Many homes were destroyed or damaged but most residents were able to rebuild quickly using local materials and techniques available at the time. This resilience helped make Coral Gable one of Miami’s most resilient communities during wartime times – even though some residents did lose their homes due to Allied bombing raids). over time much has changed about this once affluent community however many core values remain unchanged such as neighborliness, social entrepreneurship, good governance practices (including vote suppression laws),anthaural music festivals (known for their annually large civic engagement fundraiser),and open enrollment academies for both middle & high school students from all walks of life
