While living there, he met actress Peggy Noonan and started married her on July 4th, 1946. One account says that John F Kennedy drove his car through a coconut plantation gate to get to his political rally at Hollywood Drive & Vine Street when he realized he had left his sunglasses at home; hence, "Coral Gables." Another account says that many of Jackie Kennedy's family members were living there during her childhood years and she decided to named her home after them because of their influence over her life. Still other accounts claim that Lee Radziwill chose this name for his boyhood home due to its similarity to coral reefs found off of Cuba’s Matanzas Peninsula - an observation which led him to Wealthy Waterfront Avenue where he lived until his death in 2006. When vacant property began being offered for sale around 1925 as part of a development called “South of Biscayne” it became known as Coconut Grove because all of the homes were built along Coconut Grove Road which ran perpendicular to Flagler Beach (now US1). A second community called “Macao Cove” sprang up next door to Coconut Grove but it soon disbanded because most of its residents could not afford prices above $2 per square foot(and even then they only received subsidies). As more homes were built adjoining Coconut Grove Road properties became available for purchase again becoming known as Coral Gables proper starting withMagnolia Avenue just south of Flagler Beach before eventually reaching Old Key West Rd between Eighth Ave SW and Ninth Ave SE creating today’s boundaries for CoralGable proper including much more recent commercial areas like Sunrise Boulevard NE between Dixie Highway NW and Sweetwater Harbor Blvd NE while still including some older neighborhoods such as ApolloBayou NE between Park Dr NW and Cypress Dr NW which feature long blocks lined with old live oak trees dating back centuries

Coral Gables is located in Miami-Dade County, Florida. It is a census-designated place (CDP) and has a population of 8,993 as of the 2010 census. The CDP was created on December 4, 1988 from part of the former Coral Gables–Miami Beach CDP. The creation of Coral Gables coincided with increased development in the area surrounding it following World War II. In that time period, much of what is now Coral Gables was undeveloped land used for military barracks and airfields. As more people began moving into the area post-war, they founded businesses and homes in what would become Coral Gables. Today, many residents still live within walking distance of their workplaces or schools. The history of Coral Gables can be traced back to 1836 when Captain James Fenton established Fort Fenton on present day Key Biscayne Boulevard and Indian Road near wherepresent day University Drive meets Miami Beach Boulevard. The fort served as a point of embarkation on horseback for Seminole Indians who fought against Spanish colonization. The fort also housed a jail and artillery battery during the Seminole Wars which occurred between 1835 and 1840. In 1902, construction began on the first phase of what would become Coconut Grove—a planned community that straddles present day Northwest 15th Street and Second Avenue NW. At its peak development in 1923, Coconut Grove had over 200 residences, 400 acres (160 hectares) of parkland, 12 churches/sanitariums/apartments (including Stonington Hall), 22 restaurants including local favorites such as Cuban Café & Pizzeria and Floridian Cafe & Barbecue (now Little Havana), two miles (3 km) of beach front property extending to Cutler Bayou through which salt water ran during high tide--making it one of Miami’s most popular summer destinations since its inception as a port town—and several thousand workerhousing units built for American expatriates working at various navy yards across South America and Asia before being replaced by single family dwellings after World War II ended."
