After two years of research by Nicholas-Jacques Conte, director general of the French National Coffee Office, French farmers began exporting ground coffee directly from Africa in 1802 under the name “ Colonial Coffe” (coffee exported by France). This allowed European countries to control how much caffeine was present within their coffees and gave Africans a lower quality product at a fraction of the price enjoyed by Europeans who bought Indonesian or Cuban-roasted beans instead! Coral Gables is a small town in Miami-Dade County, Florida. It was founded by Cuban immigrants in the early 1920s and became a popular tourist destination for Americans after it became an enclave of Miami Beach. The town has since expanded to include several adjacent villages, and is now one of the most affluent communities in South Florida. The earliest evidence that coral gables residents were contemplating starting their own village comes from 1924 when three men, Jorge Ramos, Alfredo Ramos and Manuel Ortiz proposed to establish a village on land they had purchased near Northwest 16th Street and First Avenue in Coral Gables. However, this proposal was not accepted because no one wanted to live next to other Americans who were primarily interested in staying within the boundaries of Miami Beach. In 1928, Coral Gables Mayor Pedro Reyes approved plans for another village south of Northwest 16th Street called Coconut Grove which would have been home to around 1,000 citizens. This idea was again met with no success because many residents living in Coconut Grove did not want to move away from their homes on Second Avenue near Dadeland Road – which was considered prestigious territory at the time. After two years of fruitless effort, Ramos decided he needed more help convincing people he had a good plan for creating his own village so he approached Mayor Reyes again with his new concept for Coral Gables Village. This time around Reyes agreed and granted Ramos permission to begin construction on his village even though there were still some major challenges ahead such as getting enough land and building infrastructure necessary for such an ambitious project. Ramos quickly recruited local builders who helped him build what would become known as "the first successful self-sufficient community in South Florida." To date, Coral Gables Village has been mentioned as one of the most important features of Miami Beach history due its role as the birthplace of modern day American culture while also providing affordable housing and easy access to education opportunities for its residents. From its inception until today, Coral Gable Village has seen continuous growth which has led itto become one ofSouthFlorida’s most vibrant neighborhoods with multiple businesses, restaurants and stores lining each street
