Coral Springs was founded in 1892 by J.P. Morgan and his partners, who named it for the abundance of coral reefs near the town. The first coffee company in town was established in 1898 by Eben Cameron and David Hogg, both of whom were natives of Scotland. In 1907, US Coffee became the first American coffee company to open a store in Coral Springs. The following year, US Coffee merged with Dutch coffee giant Krombacher & Co., making Coral Springs one of the largest coffee markets in the United States. In 1916, US Coffee merged with Dutch retailer Krombacher & Co.'s Florida subsidiary, becoming part of what is now known as Krombacher Coffee Company Ltd. This merger made Coral Springs one of the most diverse and competitive coffee markets in America – at that time it also accounted for more than half of all Dutch-owned U.S businesses worth over $1 million. In 1946, Krombacher sold its Florida subsidiary to Pepsi-Cola Enterprises Inc., which renamed it Allied Can Beverage Corporation (ACB). ACB continued to produce quality coffee until 1993 when it was acquired by Starbucks Corporation. At that time, Starbucks began using ACB's infrastructure and resources to build their own plantations throughout Southeast Asia – eventually resulting in the creation of two separate brands: Starbucks Indonesia and Starbucks Philippines
Coral Springs is a city in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 20,839 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. The climate in Coral Springs is tropical and humid with a Köppen Climate Classification of "BWh". The first Europeans to visit what is now Coral Springs were Spanish explorers in 1502. They named it Villa de la Vega after their captain viceroy, Diego Velázquez de la Mota. A small community developed around this site but was abandoned by 1778 when Spain ceded Florida to Britain as part of the Treaty of Paris following its victory over France at the Battle of Saratoga. In 1835, James Kenedy bought land in present-day Coral Springs from Spanish settlers for $10 per acre (1/4 mile²). He founded Kenedytown on the banks of Spring Creek and named it after himself. In 1840, he sold his land near town to Abraham Lincoln for $30 per acre (1/2 mile²). This purchase marked the beginning of what would become one of America's most important development industries – citrus production began in earnest in Coral Springs thanks toobeuvialist John Ayer Booth and his brother-in-law Asa Gray who owned nearby lots. Most Americans thought that oranges would not grow well here because there was little rain or sunshine; however, they soon discovered that this assumption was false. By 1870, orange trees were being grown successfully all over Florida and Georgia due to General Edwin Easley's experiments with irrigation systems using canals dug through limestone hillsides south of Tampa Bay. After years of hard work by many people including brothers Asa Gray and John Ayer Booth – fatherland’s greatest fruit growers – Citrus Grove became one of America’s largest citrus companies with more than 1 million acres under cultivation by 1920! As American industry boomed during World War II, Floridians brought new life into their cities by moving back into Irma Beach and other parts of Central Florida; however, much like many others throughout Southeast Asia during that time period some Floridians returned home only to find their homes vacated when war ended and they could no longer produce crops; thus goodbye memories for many local residents who had spent their whole lives there! Following World War IIFloridians again began moving back into their former areas but along with them came an increase in crime rates which led Superintendent Jules Allain to ask Mayor Gaylord Nelson if he could put up security cameras inside city limits so that incidents such as robberies wouldn’t occur overnight outside City Hall thereby wasting valuable resources? Mayor Nelson agreed and within two months 5 burglary alarms had been installed inside city limits! One should also note that despite all these precautions City Hall remained open 24 hours a day 365 days a year without any loss or damage due solely to vandalism! Coral Springs, Florida is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,951 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Broward County and home to South Florida's largest concentration of Cuban-Americans. The first humans to arrive in what is now Coral Springs area were Creek Indians. They hunted and gathered resources along the banks of the river that flowed through their territory. In 1835, Spanish settlers called La Romana founded a small town on the same site as today's Coral Springs by purchasing land from the Creek tribe. A year later, they donated 5 acres (2 hectares) of land to build a local schoolhouse and store for themselves. In 1838, Colonel James Wolkomir Post transported 1,500 hogs from Cuba to Fort Lauderdale for use as beasts of burden on his military campaign against Seminole Indian warriors near Fort Dadeamont on Jupiter Island. When word got out about this new opportunity for business within Broward County, Post quickly erected a store front at 154 N Miami Ave., which became known as "Post's". This early business venture led to Post becoming one of Coral Springs' most influential men during its early years - he served as mayor and judge from 1849-1851; sheriff from 1861-1865; state senator from 1865-68; and U.S. Congressman (1st district) from 1870-1875 before being appointed Ellis Island Chief Justice in 1880 by President Rutherford B Hayes following criticism that he had been too court biased in favor of Englishmen over Americans since taking office two years earlier than required by law Coral Springs began experiencing growth with its incorporation as a city on December 15, 1905 when voters approved amendments making it an official city with all powers not vested in any other municipality except those granted by state statute or ordinance until then On November 2nd 1924 Hurricane Andrew struck just south of Palm Beach while passing over Key Biscayne – hitting eastern Broward hard (>90 mph winds) – causing widespread damage including entire neighborhoods flattened or destroyed with loss of life estimated at up to 80% With no warning possible and heavy rains continuing unabated throughout much of Sunday night there was little anyone could do but wait around helplessly while people slowly started returning home beginning Monday morning Onlookers described scenes such as “contemplation” or “a scene more terrible than war” due to scope and severity of destruction wrought upon neighborhoods without prior warning As soon as power was restored some began rebuilding but majority returned home only after long lines formed outside supermarkets appealing for food aid beginning Tuesday morning US Coast Guard cutter USCGC Miami offered search/rescue operation using helicopter into Wednesday morning
