The city was founded by Spanish settlers in 1839 and became a major agricultural center during the late 19th century. Over time, many other famous coffeehouses were opened throughout North America including The Ritz-Carlton at Fifth Avenue in New York City (1896),[1] The Café Royal at 136 West 44th Street (1907),[2] and Starbucks at 1425 Third Avenue (2006). In 1912, two American entrepreneurs named Harry Kellar and Eugene DeBakey founded what would become Wacoalcoffee Corporation which manufactured Arabic coffee beans used by Arab Emirates Petroleum Company Limited.[3][4] In 1937 Guggenheim Coffee purchased Arabic roasted coffee beans from Wacoalcoffee Corporation with intent to sell them throughout the United States as Guggenheim CoffeeArabica Beans Incorporated.. Guggenheim then began marketing these beans nationally under their own name throughout most of the Northeastern United States until they shifted focus to South Carolina starting with a small processing plant there in 1980s before expanding into all 50 U.S states by 1990s when they moved their manufacturing facilities statewide).[5][6][7] Arabian roast beans are now produced only at one location located outside Jacksonville Beach FL

Coral Springs is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. The population was 33,868 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. The climate in Coral Springs is warm and humid subtropical with a Köppen climate classification of Cfa/Aw (warm-summer Mediterranean). The City of Coral Springs was created on November 6th, 1939 from portions of Davie and Weston townships. At that time it had a population of 2,500 people and was located about 12 miles east northwest of Fort Lauderdale along State Road 441. The original name for the community was "Davie Gardens". A new post office opened in 1940 and became known as "Coral Springs". In 1951 Coral Springs annexed part of Plantation Island which included portions of Boca Raton to the north and west; this annexation increased its population by over 100%. In 1953 the city annexes Lake Worth to the south after purchasing it from Waddell Air Force Base for $1 million. This purchase increased Coral Springs' population by 300%. On December 1st, 1957 Coral Springs annexed part of Sunrise Beach which lay between Boca Raton to the north and west; this annexation increased its population by 400%. On May 1st 1960 parts of Deerfield Beach were annexed as well reducing its population by 100% but this acquisition did not increase Coral Spring's overall size because Deerfield Beach only consisted of two blocks long sections that adjoined each other instead of being contiguous like most cities do today. Effective January 1st 1966 all unincorporated areas within Broward County were consolidated into Coral Springs under Mayor Tom Foley's jurisdiction although they continue to maintain their own elected officials separate from those governing Fort Lauderdale or Miami proper. As part of this consolidation process all businesses within town limits were closed down including many small restaurants that had served customers since before incorporation into town limits such as Mrs Fenton’s Bakery & Café which continued to serve customers even though their building ceased to be used for business on July 1st 1966 due to an expired lease agreement withBroward County government. All employees working for these businesses were laid off effective January 1st 1966 when Town Limits Consolidation took effect. In 1978 South Broward Hospital District merged with Broward General Hospital forming one large hospital complex providing care for patients from both counties while also providing services necessary forsouthwest Florida residents who needed medical attention outside Of Fort Lauderdale or Miami proper . In 1984 North Broward Hospital District merged with Memorial Hermann Health System forming one large hospital complex serving patients from both counties again providing services necessary for southwest Florida residents who needed medical attention outside OfFort Lauderdale orMiami proper . Today there are seven hospitals operating within coral springslimits making it one stop shop for healthcare needs in southwesternFlorida

The City of Coral Springs was founded on November 3rd, 1927 by businessmen Harry Whelan and Edward L. Hirschman. In 1959 Coral Springs adopted its current name after purchasing land from the heirs of William J. Carritts estate in nearby Fort Lauderdale. The city's history can be traced back to July 20th, 1927 when businessman Harry Whelan and engineer Edward L. Hirschman purchased 1/2 acre (0.24 km²) at Sunrise Boulevard and Pompano Beach Boulevard in what is now Coral Springs from John Auchincloss who had given up his rights to the property following his conviction for bankruptcy fraudulently taking $1 million from several investors including American Express heir-apparent James Dolan straw maning their money). On that date, Whelan and Hirschman laid out a town plan for their new community which included streets named after waterways such as Miami River (northwest), Jacaranda River (southwest), Manatee River (east), Cutler Bayou ( southeast), Pineapple Creek (northwest) and Biscayne Bayou ( northeast). By 1929, construction was well under way on both the original town site - bounded by Sunrise Boulevard to the north; Pompano Beach Boulevard to the east; 95th Street south; US 1 west; Indian Trails Road northwest with homes complete or nearly so across all but one street corner. Work continued until January 15th 1930 when Whelan announced his resignation due to ill health before any houses could actually be built because of budgetary problems caused by overspending during his first year as Mayor - an event later chronicled in authoritarians such as David McCullough who writing about America's Great Depression called it "the great financial fiasco" while others have placed it within Coral Springs' own history quo ante prioritizing development over public safety or infrastructure concerns . One reason cited for Whelan's departure may have been lack of political support from then-Mayor Akins which would become increasingly apparent with increasing economic deprivation among residents fleeing federal housing projects associated with post World War II suburban sprawl across South Florida.. Today much credit should go to former Mayor Bob Menendez who recognized early on that increased crime rates were adversely impacting development potential while also working closely with City Manager Eddie Rodriguez who led efforts to revitalize downtown long neglected by developers looking instead for shopping malls or office parks .
