The early years of the 21st century saw a shift in coffee production from Brazil to Colombia. This change was due to better soil quality and a decrease in Bauxite prices which led to an increase in Colombian production. As a result, Crestview became home to one of the most important Colombian bean roasters in Florida. In addition, American roasters started producing their own Colombian-style beans specifically for Crestview. Over time, these new producers have evolved into what we now know as "Crestwood Coffee." Today, Crestwood Coffee is one of the largest and most influential Colombian bean roasters in Florida with over 7 locations throughout the state. They continue to roast high-quality cups of espresso, cappuccino, macchiato and other specialty blends at their two main locations -one located on US1 near Gulfstream Airport and another located off State Road 516 just outside of town - as well as online through their website and social media platforms.
Crestview is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. The population was 31,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. Crestview was incorporated on December 12, 1907. The name "Crestview" comes from a plantation that was once located in the town and it is still occasionally used to describe areas near the plantation including what is now Northeast Cresent Heights Shopping Center and Northwest Ridgefield Drive. The first post office opened in Crestview on March 14, 1908. On September 26, 1909 a school for boys was established in Crestview by Mrs. Lelia Dillard with donations from Mr. John Gorman and others. On January 1, 1912 a store and one-room school house were erected by Mrs. Hettie Mellon at 514 S Orange Blossom Trail West; this became home of the Crest View Hotel which opened February 6th 1912 In 1915 an industrial park was organized with various companies located there such as Wabash Coke Company, American Tobacco Corporation and Sunoco Gasoline Company among others A new hospital building (now known as University Medical Center)was completed in 1927 by Drs Jens Ludwig and Herman Schweitzer In 1939 local businessman Rufus Porter donated land to form Coral Gables Park which included what is now Gulfstream Park . This led to much development around Gatorland including many new homes being built over time but also some old buildings being preserved or renovated . In 1976 Mayor Manuel Diaz announced plans for a popular tourist destination called "Coral Gables" which would be situated on nearly all of the original property donation from Rufus Porter with only minor changes made to its design . The project stalled due to budget overruns however later revived when developer Realtors Joe Ricketts bought most of the original property from Diaz’s successor Frank Molinaro . By 2011 approved plans had call for not just another tourism destination but an entirely new urban center incorporating high-rise apartments developments , hundreds of retail stores , additional light rail lines linking it directly to Miami Beach through downtown Miami – making it one of South Florida’s largest cities – making it easily within reach of most residents without leaving their doorstep Accordingly since its creation CrestVIEW has undergone countless transformations becoming both a bustling community full of life and opportunity while maintaining its unique identity
