Crestview is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 7,609 at the 2010 census. Crestview is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. The town began as a stop on the mail route between Jacksonville and St Augustine. It rapidly grew as a result of its location near the mouth of the St Johns River and its easy access to resources such as fishing and hunting opportunities. This prosperity led to gun control measures being put into place in order to prevent arms from ending up in the wrong hands. In 1925, the town became one of only two towns in Florida with an ordinance banning handguns without a license from being carried without incognito within 500 feet of any school or public building. The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution protects citizens' right to bear arms for self-protection purposes

Crestview is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,541 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tampa-St Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. Crestview was founded in 1892 by James A. Lowry and his wife Lillie Mott Lowry. They named it for Crested Butte, Colorado, which they had seen while on their honeymoon. In 1912, Crestview became a part of the newly formed Polk County and its name was changed to Crestview Heights. In 1951, Fort Harrison Park was established near Crestview and it soon became home to many public schools as well as private schools including Hillsborough High School (now Hillsborough Community College) and two Campuses: Fort Harrison Park Military Academy and Palm Beach Gardens Junior/Senior High School (now Hillcrest Senior High School). The first golf course in Broward County opened in 1957 at what is now known as Hialeah Country Club just outside of town limits - this course later evolved into Pinehurst Golf & Tennis Resort which opened in 1981 and remains one of the most well-known GOLF COURTS IN AMERICA today! Many businesses have been added to that mix over time with many more decisions about where to locate HQ during any given year made at an Annual Meeting & Planning Session led by our Board of Directors... Today there are OVER 60 LOCATIONS LOCATED WELL IN ALL OF OUR AREA INCLUDING MANY THAT ARE SUBJECT TO MANAGEMENT BY OUR COMPETITION! Cresent View Elementary SCHOOL began operations September 8th 1948 under the leadership of Mrs Jane McCullough who played an important role in creating such a fine educational institution within our community! Our Lady of Charity Catholic Church has been providing good spiritual care for all residents since 1978 when Sr Rev Dr Jameson Fenton dedicated his time to lead this congregation from scratch! After years of hard work by so many volunteers we were finally able to open our doors on Thursday afternoon November 17th 2009 after much anticipation! Reverend Daniel Kuehlberg officiated at the dedication ceremony along with Msgr Timothy Jansen who delivered remarks!!! We continue offering PreK thru 12th grade education with great programs like music, art, physical education classes plus bible study groups!!! We offer Wellness Programs like massages etc!!!!!! Our Chinese Restaurant arrived here early last year called Jing Jun Garden which offers delicious food plus drinks & amazing view from their patio!!!!!!!!! !! Crestview, Florida is a town located in Brevard County, Florida, United States. The population was 9,827 at the 2010 census. Crestview is the most populous municipality in Brevard County and one of its original towns. It was founded on November 1, 1892 by J.D. Price and Phebe Price after they bought 640 acres (248 ha) of land from the Seminole Indians. The first post office opened in Crestview on October 12, 1893. The town name was changed to Crestview on February 6, 1898 due to confusion with nearby Melbourne Beach which had been renamed that year as well. The first dentist in CrestVIEW practice was Drs Fenton and Hargrave who operated from their offices on SW Third Street until 1951 when it moved to its current location offSW Second Street. On January 15th, 1907 the first public school open in Crestview when grades one through five were offered out of four available schools in Brevard County under a program sponsored by Congressman Henry Hill which aimed to improve education for all people living near Miami-Dade County lines including white and black residents who could not attend local schools because of segregation laws then still in effect. In 1922 A&P grocery store opened up on Fourth Street which remain an important part of Crestview's history today as well as being home to many local businesses such as Lowe's Home Improvement since 1978 and American Legion Post #1 since 1954; both have been closed but continue to be used for ceremonial purposes only by members of the local military unit stationed there at Fort Myer Annex/ Camp Lemonnier where they currently hold daily drills each morning before classes resume inside the basecamp building across South Broward Boulevard from Disney World (the parade route passes right by this facility every day during summertime). Also significant historically has been First Baptist Church built concurrently with First Methodist Church on NE Third Avenue about half way between these two churches beginning services on Easter Sunday 1912 followed by expansions over time including 22 classrooms complete with air conditioning starting 1966 making this perhaps one of America's earliest comprehensive high school secondary education systems offering courses leading up to college level !! Today both churches are active small business entities providing worship services within their respective congregations while also continuing some older traditions like interracial dating among their membership that predates any formalized racism or bigotry ???A monument honoring these pioneers will be erected soon adjacent to First BaptistChurch just east of NW corner 3rd Ave/Southeast corner 4th Ave streets facingNW corner 3rd Ave/Southeast corner 4th Ave streets
