Crestview is a city in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 25,752 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Lake Buena Vista Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in Crestview were farmers who arrived in 1837 and 1838. A sawmill and grist mill were built soon after, and a railroad was built to bring goods to the town from east Polk County. In 1868, a post office was established, and by 1870 Crestview had two stores and 10 residents. By 1880, there were six stores, 20 residents, and one school. The mills closed around 1920; however, the town kept its name until it got changed to its current form in 1930. In 1962, growth began to occur as new businesses moved into Crestview from nearby Lake Buena Vista or Kissimmee. One of these businesses was Harry's Discount Liquor Store which continued to be open until it burned down in 1984. Another business that started up shortly afterwards was an auto detailing shop called "Lincoln". This business would remain open until it went out of business around 1990. Today, Crestview has a variety of businesses that provide services such as restaurants ( notably White Castle), retail shops (such as JCPenney), medical clinics (including one run by Drs Johnnie Walker Jr., Barry Manilow & others), automotive services (including Ford Lincoln Mercury dealership), agricultural pursuits (the Port Royal Farms market provides fresh produce), and storage facilities for Retail items like furniture etcetera

Crestview is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,828 at the 2000 census and 1,955 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fort Myers–Lee Metropolitan Statistical Area. Crestview is located on both sides of US-27 south of Naples and north of Fort Myers. The first settler in Crestview was John Atherton who arrived in 1836. By 1840 there were twelve families living in Crestview including three姑娘和五十多人。 In 1849 James Siska settled on a parcel of land east of present day Crestview along bayou Sanibel. He irrigated his crops with water from springs located near where he built his house today. In 1861 Captain James Harnett established Camp Hinton (later named Fort Myers) four miles northwest of present day Crestview to provide military support for General William Tecumseh Sherman’s march through central Florida during the American Civil War. The fort served as an encampment and supply depot until 1865 when it was replaced by Camp Sherman which stood until 1886 when it burned down due to arson. On December 8, 1888, ownership of Camp Sherman passed from the United States Army to the local government under a deed “ whereby all rights thereto vested in said government by purchase from lotters” with no reference to its use as a military post or garrison during peacetime only “as occasion may require for militia duty or parade ground only”. It wasn't until 1907 that Commandant George Crocker erected Signal Station #1 at what are now Fourth Street and First Avenue North about one mile northeast of present day CrestVIEW; this station functioned as a radio communications center for events affecting southwest Florida during World War I while also providing shelter for officers and men awaiting transport home across Tampa Bay or other points inland.. After World War II ended signal station usage diminished but continued intermittently until 1966 when it was discontinued due to budget cuts following the war's end; however remnants still exist today (ongoing research is needed to determine if they are actually active). For most of its history Signal Station #1 operated out Of Sight Behind Closed Doors! Today you can see evidence that signals were received via UHF/VHF radios just outside current building on 4th Street North! There's even an old phone booth used as partSite control room back then
