Founded in 1984 by two friends who met while working at the local car dealership, The Roastery has since become one of the most well-known and respected coffee companies in the world. In addition to their roasts, The Roastery also sells beans direct to consumers through their website and other marketing channels. Today, The Roastery offers more than just fresh roasted coffee. They offer a wide variety of products related to coffee, including grinders and filters, cake mixes and powdered drinks. The history of The Roastery goes back much further than any other business in Daytona Beach. original owner Bill Lutz was born in Germany in 1923 and immigrated to the United States when he was only 18 years old. He worked his way up through the ranks at J&R Car Sales before opening his own dealership in 1976 called "The Gilded Cage". During this time, Lutz became known for his high-quality German roast coffee that he offered at an affordable price point for American drivers looking for a good cup of java without breaking the bank. In 1984, Lutz met his new friend Rick Kunsch who had been working at J&R Car Sales as a customer service representative. Kunsch told Lutz that he had found some new beans from Africa that were particularly sweet and fruity - something that Lutz had never tasted before! With Kunsch's help, Lutz founded The Roastery with himself as its first president/CEO. Lutz remained as president/CEO until 2003 when he passed away due to complications from ALS( Lou Gehrig's Disease). After Lutz' death, Rick Kunsch took over as CEO until 2006 when he left abruptly after disagreements with management about how best to continue running the business under Rick's guidance. For many years followingRick's departure there was much speculation about who would take over as CEO but no clear consensus could be reached among those involved about who should be named interim CEO whileRickWasOutOfAJob; This eventually led to Bill Cramer taking over on an interim basis until 2009 when Rick returned permanently into full-time leadership status within the business after passing along his vision for things going forward unto future generations...and starting over again from scratch! This story does not end there though - because even after Rick came back into leadership status things continued moving slowly - Until one day... In May 2013 it was announced that Terry Stroud would be taking over as CEO effective immediately pending Board approval; Terry is originally from Virginia but has lived here all our lives so this marks his first experience leading anything large scale like this let alone developing or running a business like this! As soon as Terry got here everything changed!!! We started making mistakes again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are now making great coffee but we can't fix our past mistakes we made sorry customers

In 1834, Commodore John C Stroud's expedition under Captain David Barron explored the area around Daytona Beach. Barron named the bay after his patron saint, Saint George, as part of a religious campaign to promote Christianity among the Native American nations living along the Gulf Coast at that time. In 1886, businessman Isaac Myers built an airfield on what is now Punta Gorda Island off Daytona Beach Boulevard with plans to use it as a commercial airport for his sugar plantations near Key West and Fort Pierce. However, World War I delayed preparations until 1922 when Myers sold his interest to entrepreneur Waddell Cobb who began developing land nearby for housing, shopping and other uses including new hospitals and amusement parks across from Interstate 95 south of downtown Daytona Beach by 1927. As more people moved into town over time (and businesses grew), residential areas east of Punta Gorda Boulevard developed into what is now known as Old Town while eastern sections became known as New Town although all original street names have been changed since then except for "Punta Gorda Boulevard". Daytona Beach is a serene, white-sand beach town in the Daytona Beach metropolitan area on the Atlantic coast of Florida. It has been home to humans since Paleo-Eskimo people first arrived in what is now Daytona Beach in the late Pleistocene era over 12,000 years ago. The name "Daytona" comes from a Seminole Indian word meaning "the place where man can cross the water". In 1898, two brothers named Harry and Buddy Woodward donated land at Big Bayou for a hotel and casino. In 1923, the city of Daytona Beach was incorporated as part of an effort to attract wealthy visitors to its newly formed county. The city's original downtown business district was built on First Street between US 1 and State Road A1A. The city experienced significant growth during World War II when military bases were established around it. These include Castle Bravo on First Street just south of US 1, Fort Meade on Second Avenue east of I-75, and Naval Air Station North Island offUS 27 across from Interstate 495. During the war, industry also grew with production of fertilizers, tires, aircraft parts and other products that supported military activity throughout southern Florida. After the war ended, many businesses closed or relocated elsewhere as new industries emerged such as transportation manufacturing and retail development later benefiting from Interstate 95 access near by while Daytona Beach continued to experience population growth fueled by tourism alone until recently due to various factors including growing suburban populations adjacent to it; however this trend could soon reverse if recent trends continue
The Daytona Beach community was founded in 1852 by German refugees. At the time, Daytona was a small town of about 10,000 people. The town's first store, founded by John Beale, opened in 1854. By 1875, the population had grown to 30 residents and the first bank was established. In 1924, Daytona Beach became a city and the first mayor was Harry Payne Whitney.
