They purchased their first coffee roaster in that year and continue to operate it today. In the early 1930s, the Lewis family moved to Jacksonville, Florida and opened the first Coffee Place on Union Street. This store was the forerunner of what is now called Starbucks Coffee Company. The Lewis family continued to operate their business until they passed away in 1990. The next group of coffee givers were Msgr., Rev., Monsignor, Dr., Mrs., Rev., etc…. During these years many people made donations to various charities through cafeterias or other institutions where they worked or lived. These individuals became known as “coffee donors” because they gave coffee machines or cups for use at local cafeterias throughout the area. Coffee has been a part of the Debary community for over 75 years. In 1916, Italian immigrants Lorenzo and Anna Cacciatore founded the Cafeteria on SW Second Street in Debary. The family operated the business until their death in 1957. Cafe Don Giovanni was established by Angelo Pizzuti and wife Mariella in 1951 as a coffee shop near US-1. Angelo's son Dino opened Don Giovanni II in 1978, which became one of the most popular cafes in town. In 1990, Joe's Coffee & Tea was founded by Joe Biden's father Edwin J. "Joe" Biden Sr., who ran it until his death in 2002. The business moved to its current location on NW Third Street in 2006 after a long period of brewery operation on First Street adjacent to Joe's Barbecue restaurant. In 2013, Nacho Libre Coffee opened on NE Fourth Street adjacent to Joe's Pizza Parlor; this cafe is also home to sandwiches made from local produce three times daily and housemade pizzas nightly.
Debary, Florida is a town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 381 at the 2010 census. It is part of the South Dade–Miami metropolitan area. The name comes from Spanish meaning "overlook". The first settlers in this area were the brothers José and Manuel Vargas who arrived in 1824. In 1827 they founded what would become Debary, Florida on a tract of land they had purchased from Alonso de la Luz y Alvarado. The town's first post office opened in 1830. The current building was built in 1907 and serves as the town hall today. In 1846, John Ayer bought about 7 acres (3 ha) of land near present-day Debary for $2 per acre (0.93 ha). He began to build an agricultural complex that included more than 50 buildings and an orchard that produces apples, oranges, cherries and grapefruit. By 1870 Ayer had developed a small city with over 150 residents including shops and homes along State Road 441 which connected him to Miami via train each day to his operation at Sunnyside Plantation near Hialeah Gardens
