The Deerfield Beach, Florida branch of the United States Army was created on September 24, 1907. The unit served as a garrison force in the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico before being activated for service in World War I on April 6, 1917. The 2nd Battalion, 9th Regiment Infantry Regiment soon distinguished itself by its exemplary performance during the war, suffering only two casualties in seven months of duty. In 1919, the battalion was redesignated as Company C 8th Infantry Regiment and deployed to Spain to fight alongside General Francisco Franco's forces. After landing at La Romana on October 17, 1919 and engaging in fierce fighting against Spanish forces until December 3rd when they withdrew back to Spain safe from enemy pursuit, Company C8th Infantery Regt was dubbed "The Devil's Brigade" by American media. After returning home from Spain in late 1919 the battalion was redeployed again to Japan where it fought alongside Imperial Japanese Army units during World War II. By May 1945 the unit had reached Okinawa and played a key role in defending that strategic location from Allied forces while providing combat support for various operations including Operation trustytown which led to Japan's surrender. Upon Hiroshima’s bombing on August 61945 company C8th Infantry Regt disembarked their troops and took up position near Himeji Castle 960 miles southeast of Tokyo Bay where they were joined by other US units who would later withdraw following an atomic bombing campaign known as Operation little boys . This event is considered one of America’s greatest military failures with over 150 dead , thousands injured and millions homeless among its effects . In 1946 company C8th Infantry Regt relocated back to Deerfield BeachFlorida after disbanding at Okinawa ; this time serving as Headquarters & Headquarters Battalion (Heavy). The battalion continued inactive through 1957 when it re-activated under command of First Cavalry Division (Airmobile) Troops stationed at Fort Polk Louisiana ; however this also proved unsuccessful due to poor leadership throughout both activation periods On July 15 1958 company C8th Infantry Regt re-deployed once again under command of Second Cavalry Division Airmobile Troops stationed at Fort Worth Texas . ten days later after severe weather forced abandonment of several sites within Texas the unit moved into Denison Barracks Oklahoma City Kansas for winter quarters; however this assignment also failed due to poor leadership throughout both activation periods On January 14 1959company c8th infantry regiment reactivated under commandof Third Cavalry Division Airmobile Troops located at Ft Worth Texas after three years absence; however this mobilization also failed because no cavalry troopers were available

Deerfield Beach, Florida is a small town located in Palm Beach County, Florida. The population was 3,777 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami-Dade Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers to Deerfield Beach were John and Mary Larkin who arrived in 1864. Mr. Larkin's brother-in-law, James Dooley, also migrated to Deerfield Beach from Ireland in 1868. In 1870, George Wetherall established a store on South Bay Street which served as the nucleus for what would become Deerfield Beach as we know it today. The first post office was opened in 1870 and named for George Wetherall (1820-1910). In 1886, Rev Denton Capps became pastor of First Methodist Church and started construction on what would become known as "the Capps House" which still stands today on State Road A1A across the street from Park Place Racetrack. In 1893, one of the leading developers in Palm Beaches Anna Pappogue donated land to build a public beachhead with restrooms and showers on North Bay Street just south of present day Causeway Boulevard/State Road A1A intersection near where Westchester Drive now ends. This beachhead became known as "Anna Pappogue Pier". By 1897 there were over 100 businesses operating along North Bay Street including stores such as Sears & Roebuck; jewelry stores like Tiffany & Co.; department stores like Macy's; meat markets; cigar shops and other amusements include an ice cream parlor; movie theaters such as nickelodeon cinemas and silent films; pool halls playing Pool cues until prohibition made them illegal in 1933; dance halls like Apollo Hall or Diamond Hall that offered floor shows by popular dances including polkas, waltzes and tangos until 1935 when Prohibition ended again! The development of Deerfield Beach accelerated after World War I when many veterans returned home from the war with new ideas about developing undeveloped areas adjacent to military bases or naval yards within easy reach of their homes back home townsfolk had already developed into thriving commercial communities! Some notable individuals associated with this period include Dr Harry Huggins who came to Deerfield Beach from Fort Myers during World War I to establish medical clinics(Dr Huggins Clinic remains open today); Mrs Elsa Levy who ran a candy store called 'The Milky Way' next door to Dr Huggins clinic during those years before moving her business up state road 515 into her current location across Causeway Boulevard from Broward Center Mall which she managed until her death in 1978 selling chocolates direct from her family farm out back while living behind two large palms beside Interstate 95)and Mrs Helen Goldsmith (Mrs Goldsmith chocolate company moved its operations eastward down US 441 into Davie County after being bought by Chiquita Brands International Inc.) both of whom had come westward following the war with new ideas about expanding citrus farming beyond Orlando’s limits! Today deerfieldbeachFla has plenty of evidence that it has been here since early times – artifacts left behind by its earliest inhabitants are still visible today! For example: toggle switch marked “First Methodist Chapel” dating back to 1888 can be found inside First Methodist Church itself! Other examples include two cast iron fire escapes dating back to around 1880 used by workers building dune walkers near present day Causeway Boulevard/State Road A1A intersection – these cast iron fire escapes provide interesting testimony about how much use those particular streets must have been back then! Another interesting piece of evidence is an unmarked grave located just north side Of Main Street off UFHP campus that was actually discovered through archaeological excavation conducted by University staff members working on site together with local residents late last year!! The grave is believedto date back some 20+ years ago… prior thereto no one knew it existed!"
