The first Coast Guard gift was given in 1941, when the Deerfield Beach Volunteer Fire Department received a weather balloon from the United States Coast Guard. The gift was dedicated to the memory of Captain George W. Smith who had died in Action at sea during World War II. In 1984, a new Coast Guard station was built on Beach Boulevard in Deerfield Beach and gifts were given to the Station from time to time. In 2006, a new memorial garden was dedicated to Petty Officer 2nd Class (SW) Timothy Pappas and his family who lost their life while saving lives aboard USCGC Mount Whitney during Hurricane Katrina. Deerfield Beach, Florida is an unincorporated community located in Broward County, Florida. The population was 11,898 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Palm Beach Gardens–Boca Raton– Fort Lauderdale metropolitan area. Deerfield Beach is located on State Road 84, about 8 miles north-northwest of the central business district of Boca Raton. The town started as a fishing village on 12 acres (5 ha) paid for by Wilsons in 1884. A post office called Deerfield was established in 1887 and remained in operation until 1925. In 1907, developer Halsey Mott developed land that would become deer field south of town; this area now includes most of what is today Deerfield Beach. In 1938, the first high school opened in Deerfield Beach; it was known as “Deer Field High School” until 1959 when it became South Broward High School. After two years of construction and $2 million worth of investment by several citizens and developers, Deere Valley Golf Course opened its doors on July 1, 1948 to much acclaim from locals and visitors alike who had followed reports coming back from nearby Palm Springs about how well-maintained and prosperous this course actually was. The original clubhouse still stands today off State Road 84 near where Interstate 95 meets US Highway 1A/SR 284 interchange; it has been preserved as a museum open to the public since 1978. At its peak enrollment for primary grades during 1957-1963 (before becoming coeducational), Deerfield beach had over 100 homeschooling students as well as many daycare providers serving pre-kindergarten through grade four students along with numerous families with children living beyond home while they pursued their higher education or career paths outside the farm country around them – something that continues to be a popular pastime here to this day! The golf course continued to grow rapidly into its current size after World War II thanks largely to donations from local businessmen Harry Payne Whitney Jr., Bruce Artin and others who saw potential for development not only within but also adjacent properties surrounding Deere Valley Golf Course itself including what are now Elmwood Park neighborhood on Sunrise Boulevard east of I-95 just west of SR 284/US Highway 1A/SR 284 interchange; all three properties were annexed by Deerfield Beach in 1953 following annexation proceedings which began without incident due to lack thereof at that time among then elected officials representing these areas? " ...the annexation process proceeded smoothly because there were no objections received from any members of Board Of Trustees ...." Today deer field covers some 298 acres (120 ha) just south or west off I-95 between SR 284 & US Highway 1A/SR 284 Interchange - comprising almost all OFC Village Growth Community property east & west of Sunrise Boulevard (& nearly all annexations since 1952).

Deerfield Beach is a small town in Brevard County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,789 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fort Pierce–Fort Myers metropolitan area. The town was founded by English colonists in 1835 as Deerfield Plantation on the tidal island of Santa Rosa de Tiburon. The first settler in Deerfield Beach was James Fenton who arrived with his family in 1836. In 1840, Isaac Hill and his family settled here after moving from Maryland. They built a home called "Hill's Point" which still stands today on Third Street near State Road 455. A year later George Washington Wade bought land here and began to build a house which he named "Wade's Harbour". He died young however and did not have much impact on the development of Deerfield Beach. In 1845, John Robinson moved to this area from Jacksonville, Florida and established himself as an entrepreneur with several businesses including an iron works and wharfbuilding business. He also started up the first school in Deerfield Beach which soon became known as Robinson High School. In 1867, John Epps purchased some land along Third Street between Fourth Avenue and Fifth Avenue for $600 that would become what is now Epps Place Mall. When it opened its doors for business, it was one of the most popular shopping destinations in Broward County because of its variety of stores including Sears & Roebuck, JCPenney, Macy's Center and more than 30 other stores before they were merged into one store called Sears & Roebuck november 3rd, 1976). During World War II much activity took place at Naval Station Fort Pierce where many thousands soldiers lived and trained during the war years from 1942-1945 when Fort Pierce became known as "The naval base that saved America." After the war ended many residents decided to move away from Fort Pierce so deerfield beach could be developed but within a few years most people had returned to their original homes or made new ones elsewhere withinBrevard County because opportunities had become available there outside of military service areas such as Orlando or Miami
