From here, they started exporting their beans all over the world before finally moving to what is now Deerfield Beach in 1892. During World War II, Deerfield Beach was one of the most heavily bombed areas in Florida due to its strategic location on key naval installations. As a result, many businesses were destroyed or lost their ownership within weeks of the bombing campaign starting. This included Koffee Klokker which reopened after being rebuilt under new management in 1945. At one time, Deerfield Beach was home to the largest coffee plantation in Florida. The Coffee Growers and Merchants Company operated the plantation from 1881-1893. After the company's closure, the land was used for other purposes such as a golf course and housing developments. Deerfield Beach, Florida is a small town located in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The population was 3,815 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area and lies on the eastern side of well-known Biscayne Bay. The town is adjacent to Broward County and has a beach front meetup area with Anse Loiseau and Cane Hill Headlands as its centerpiece. The land that Deerfield Beach sits on was first settled by Creek Indians in 1763. When Captain John Smith discovered the Floridas he thought he had found India because of all the big trees and ferns in the area. He named it Fort Cano after his friend and partner in this discovery, Samuel de Champlain (1624-1705). After landing here Smith built Fort Stono which served as an outposts for much of what would become Florida. In 1821 James Ketchum purchased 4,000 acres (2 km²) of property from Pedro Meneses which now includes parts of Deerfield Beach. Ketchum began expanding into what would become Deerfield Beach when he opened up shop at 21st Street and Sixty Second Avenue in 1829. His store became one of the most popular in South Florida thanks to its wide variety of goods including cigars, cloths, boots, saddles, whiskey barrels and other items not typically found elsewhere at that time In 1835 Ketchum donated 1/4 acre (0.20 ha) to establish a public square on which deer could be killed for food until 1840 when hunting regulations changed so that alligators were allowed to be hunted instead The square currently stands vacant but it was once home to a small theater called "Theaters On The Boulevard" In 1886 Jules Lefebvre founded Lefebvre's Pharmacy next door to his coffee grocery store on Sixty Second Avenue One hundred years later Lefebvre's pharmacy still stands today across from Dadeland Mall With more than 2 million customers per year it's one of South Floridians' largest retail partners . In 1905 De Witt Richards bought 20 acres (8 km²) east of Ketchum's store from Edmondson & Co." Richards ran a feed mill there until 1912 when he sold it to Matson Brothers who used it as their cattle pastures until 1938 When they razed the mill they also destroyed any remaining evidence left by Richards including some old sugar cane barns There are no records showing how or why these structures were demolished but they may have been due to fire concerns associated with those mills over future developments

Deerfield Beach is a town in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. The population was 6,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami-Dade Metropolitan Statistical Area. Deerfield Beach was founded in 1892 by Captain John P. Herrick and his family after they moved from New York City. The first recorded settler in Deerfield Beach was Capt. John P Herrick who came to what is now Deerfield Beach in 1892 with his family on horseback. After purchasing land from the Kissimmee Indians, Capt Herrick built a cabin on what is now Third Street near present day State Road A1A and he named it "Herrick's Cabin". The original house still stands today and can be visited for free during daylight hours only. In 1904, Jens Olsen started the first post office in Deere Valley and soon other businesses followed suit including an insurance agency (1906), hardware store (1907), livery stable(1908), grocery store (1909), bakery (1910) and several small residences before incorporation as a town on May 14, 1912 under the name "Merritt Island". On November 3rd of that year voters pass a resolution asking for annexation into Broward County but no action was taken until 1925 when then Mayor Henson recommended annexation which was approved by county commissioners that same month In 1927, deerfield beach got its own airport when Fort Lauderdale International Airport opened just south of town limits; however this airport closed within months due to budget cuts made by then Broward County Executive George Carranza . In 1937, following World War II shortages of military personnel led to Deerfield Beach becoming an all-male city Limits were reinstated effective January 1st 1945 so that deerfield beach could once again serve as a functioning community with both male and female residents
