By 1870, he had built a large warehouse at Eighth and Constitution Avenues which served as both his business office and residence. In 1886, he sold his business to James Witherspoon who continued to trade coffee until his death in 1907. From 1907-1972, The World Coffee Company operated as the sole retailer for ground coffee in Destin.
