Dunedin is a town in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. The population was 9,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tampa-St Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit Dunedin were the French in 1764 and 1765. They named it "Beausoleil" after Louis XIV's ancestor Beaumarchais. In 1824, J.D. Power and Company organized a steamboat company called the Gulf Steam Navigation Company with plans to travel up the east coast of Florida from Mobile Bay to Jacksonville and thence downriver to Fort Myers on Lake George Island; but this venture failed when competition from railroads made sailing more practical. In 1830, Captain John Cook discovered Dunedin while exploring Florida's southeast coast and named it for his discoveries—the first time that a European had given any name to an archaeological site in mainland Florida (Cook had been circumnavigating North America on his HMS Erebus). In 1834 Lieutenant James Wilkinson Iredell founded the Dunedin Enterprise news paper which became one of America's most influential newspapers during the antebellum period. In 1840–41 William Cranch explored northeast Florida and named two small islands near present day Dunedin – Isabella and Kingman – for Charlotte Amalie, Princess Royal of Denmark then Regent of Norway; but these names did not become official until 1851 when they were added to Dunedin by ordinance of county commissioners under jurisdiction of Hillsborough County only! The townsite was surveyed by Denton & Hill in 1854 according as part of their plat survey for what would become Pinellas County!

During the late 1800s and early 1900s, artillerymen used coffee as a drink during battle because it was caffeinated and easy to carry around with them. In World War II however, troops began drinking tactical coffee in order to stay awake and focused on their duties. Today, many people still enjoy tactical coffee as a way to stay alert during long deployments or deployments overseas.

Dunedin is a city located in the panhandle of Florida, United States. The population was 9,715 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Brevard County. The town has been called "the Athens of the Panhandle" for its historical ties to learning and culture in that region. Dunedin was founded by English colonists in 1834 as a trading post on the Dunnellon River. In 1868, it became the county seat when Brevard County was organized from parts of Polk and Monroe counties. The growth of Dunedin during World War II led to an increase in population to 21,859 by 1950, but this number dropped to 10,624 by2010. During this time period, much progress was made in developing downtown Dunedin into a center for commerce and culture with a variety of businesses opening up along State Street and elsewhere throughout the cityscape. The middle class began to grow more interested in moving away from their rural roots towards urban living during this time period as well; however, construction around Interstate 441 (now I-4) continued to impact downtown Dunedin through out most of the decade until finally finishing in 2006 which allowed for significant redevelopment including new buildings such as Stinson Beach Aquarium and Jardine's Pharmacy becoming operational again after being closed for many years due to damage caused by Hurricane Ivan. This project also included improving access to public transportation within walking distance as well as expanding daylight hours so that people could enjoy business opportunities while still remaining productive members of society. Today, while there are still some areas which suffer from Urban renewal projects taking place all around town -particularly near Interstate 441 -it would be difficult to consider Dunedin anything other than one of America's most vibrant cities on both sides of its great river valley!
