The history of coffee in Edgewater, Florida is rich and complex. The city was founded in 1892 by a group of Swedish immigrants known as the "Edgewater Swedes." The Swedes were early pioneers of citrus farming and coffee production, and their business interests led them to establish a processing plant in 1893. By 1902, the company had developed into one of the most successful on the peninsula. The first commercial espresso machine was built in Edgewater by Luigi Luzzatti in 1898. Coffee began to be sold commercially around this time, but it wasn't until 1912 that Edgewater became home to its own grocery store. That year, Italian immigrant Angelo Gaggi opened his first store in town and soon started selling coffee beans direct to consumers. In 1915, Gaggi merged his company with another Italian-owned processor, becoming the first American-owned coffee company on Jacksonville's mainland. In 1922, Dutchman Wouter van der Sluis took over Luzzatti's business. He continued to produce high-quality espresso machines until his death in 1984. During van der Sluis' tenure as owner and operator of Edgewater's largest caffeine operation, he also developed what is now known as "Van Der Sluis roast." This unique blend of Turkish beans and French press methods produces an intense flavor that has become popular among professional brewers throughout North America and Europe. Luzzatti's heirs continued to operate the company until 1957 when it merged with two other Jacksonville firms - Gerber Coffee Corporation (now JBS) and National Coffee Company (now Peet's). At this point, Edgewater had become one of Jacksonville's leading coffee communities;Gerber still operates a small cafe/roastery within walking distance of downtown while National maintains a large warehouse location across from City Hall where they sell both brewed beverages and roasted coffeeseeds In 1978 JBS purchased National from Peet’s for $115 million which made Jaxon’s third largest employer after ICT & Development Incorporated (IDI) which at that time controlled 1% percent interest [1] . With such success came increased competition however; Gerber moved into their new headquarters located on Jackson Street just east of Dixie Highway before abruptly closing operations all together due to poor health reasons in 1990[2]. Today only remnants remain from those days including an abandoned warehouse near Century Link Field

Edgewater is a small town in Escambia County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,800 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pensacola metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1902 by Englishmen and Spanish-Americans who had come to escape Mexican rule. Edgewater's first post office was established in 1903. In 1907 it became the county seat of Escambia County after being moved from Mobile. Many of the early settlers were wealthy Englishmen and their families who had come to escape Mexican rule; they built imposing homes on large plantations near town. The land that now makes up Edgewater was first surveyed by Colonel John Leland in 1811 as part of a effort to connect Mobile with Pensacola Bay via a toll road; he named it "Escambia." When Spain acquired Florida in 1821, Escambia County was renamed Santa Rosa de la Mancha y Cuba del Norte for Governor Manuel Godoy y Castro based on his ownership of what is now East Mobile Bay and Cuban Havana Province ( nowadays Miami-Dade County). Development began slowly until 1903 when two businessmen, Frank Jervis and Harry Hines bought 2,000 acres (800 km²) around the community for $10 per acre ($2 million at current prices). The first store opened its doors in November 1903 and soon became one of the most popular businesses in town because it sold goods local not found anywhere else within reach including groceries, hardware stores, saddles & horseshoes etc.; men would often stop by for lunch downtown or take an afternoon break before returning home to continue working on their farms or continuing construction on new buildings nearby like schools or churches which would continue to be built until well into World War II due to demand from military servicemen stationed there during wartime: "Oneirmen" drank coffee from hand jugs while ashore doing their job then took home some extra cups for themselves back at their barracks before going off duty again". Edgewater is a town in Monroe County, Florida, United States. The population was 2,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Edgewater" is derived from the Potomac River and refers to a small cove on its bank which served as a landing point for early settlers. The first white settler in Edgewater was James A. White, who arrived in 1868. He built a cabin on what is now known as State Road 447 and named it "White's Cove." In 1869, General Andrew Jackson invaded Florida and burned all of Mobile Bay; this destroyed most of the coastal cotton plantations and killed many people, including White. The loss of these resources forced White to give up his land south of the river for development into what is now Edgewater. In 1872, John Wesley Hardin bought land southeast of Edgewater from James A. White; he renamed it "Hardship Point". Hardin developed this land into one of Jacksonville's original commercial districts – called "The Landing". This area became known as Hardin Heights after him. In 1895, Anna Matson married Abram Pritchard (1853–1927), an American banker who had come to Jacksonville to buy property here that he intended to use as a summer home. They moved into their house on State Road 447 in 1896 and started operation as Pritchard & Matson Auctioneers; they continued to operate until moving out of business in 1957.) Anna Matson also founded the first school in Jacksonville – Westside Elementary School – and donated its building (now known as Eastside Elementary School) to Edgewater schools in 1922.]] In 1898, Jerald Webb bought 1/4 acre (0·6 km²) east of Hardship Point from Abram Pritchard for $700 [This parcel would later become surmounted byAtlantis Place]. They found roasted green beans (coffee) on an island called Sulawesi which they named Batavia after their captain, Francisco de Quevedo who discovered it during his voyage around Southeast Asia in 1602-1603. At first, Dutch traders were not interested in selling Java's resources but later became addicted to its taste so they explored further into Java until 1621 when they founded Surabaya as a port town on Java island to trade with other parts of Indonesia. There are few mentions about Coffee until 17th century when Dutch East India Company (VOC) started expanding their business into new regions such as Java etc., where Coffee could be found only under very specific circumstances like when tea was being imported from China or when spices were being sold by Muslim merchants living along the maritime routes

After a few years of growth, Armstrong decided to move the town inland and name it after himself – Edgewater Heights. The town continued to grow as a small community until World War II when it experienced significant growth due to its proximity to Tampa Bay. In 1948, the United States Congress passed the General Allotment Plan which allowed eastern Broward County (now Pinellas) to annex Edgewater Heights. This annexation led to increased development in Edgewater and created more jobs for residents. By 1960, there were over 1,000 people living in Edgewater and it had become an established suburb of Tampa Bay. In recent years, Edgewater has seen some setbacks with its economy Slow economic growth has led to diminished tax revenues which have forced the city government to spend more money on services such as education and infrastructure than ever before. As a result, many of the city's oldest neighborhoods are no longer vibrant or heavily populated due to lack of access to affordable housing or transportation options
