It is with great sadness that we must report the passing of one of our most beloved members, Air Force Sergeant First Class (Airman) Tim Curry. Tim was a warrior in the air force and an amazing member of the squadron he served in for over 10 years. He will be deeply missed and will always be remembered by his friends and family. Tim was born on October 18th, 1984, in Florida City, FL to Donny and Cindy Curry. When Tim was just 2 years old, his family moved to Colorado Springs, CO so he could attend North Central School District #2 where he played football and baseball. In 2006, Airman Tim graduated from high school after 4 years of hard work as a team player on the varsity varsity soccer team. While attending North Central High School Tim also became involved with The Grapes Foundation which helps children in need through music/the arts enrichment programs such as guitar lessons and voice classes. Airman Curry had manyJamestown Friends who attended his memorial service at Riverside Memorial Chapel on Friday August 15th including current members of the Squadron 7-5357 whose lives he touched so greatly during their time together at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson AFB: Staff Sergeant Cody Dutton (left), Senior Chief Warrant Officer 3 John Stelling (center), Technical Sgt 1st Class JB Wesson (right) - all retired USAF Officers who knew him well during their time spent flying alongside him; Master Sgt Jeff Geraghty (pictured right),[1] Kymberly McLaughlin ([2]) & Chris Weigel ([3]) Airman Tim's death leaves behind an incredible void that cannot be filled by words alone! Florida City is a city in Escambia County, Florida, United States. The population was 21,763 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pensacola- Escambia Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city was founded by John C. Stroud on August 29, 1885 as a small town named for hisdaughter Flora in what is now part of Gulf County. The first people to live in what is now Florida City were Creek Indians who hunted and collected game near present day Pensacola Bayou. A Post Office called Flora was established in 1885 and remained in operation until it closed on November 30, 1949. In 1917, William Haney purchased land east of the bayou from J.D. McNabb and built a home which he called "Haney's Landing". In 1936 Haney sold the property to Rufus Burchfield who renamed it "Florida City" after his father-in-law General James Ewing whom he served as U.S Ambassador to Spain from 1925 to 1928 Burchfield also developed land west of where Florida City now stands including an airport which he named Burchfield Airport (now Pensacola International Airport). After World War II ended there was little demand for housing so much as businesses grew rapidly with many new buildings being constructed throughout downtown FloridaCity such as the old State Capitol building which still stands today (1947) . Many older buildings continue to be used today including: First National Bank Building (1927), Gulfport Savings Bank Building (1936), American Legion Hall (1939), Boeing Aircraft Company Headquarters Building (1963), and Piggly Wiggly restaurant located at 301 N Northwest Ave . Today there are few if any standing structures remaining from when this area was once a vibrant industrial center with numerous factories and businesses dating back to the mid 1800s

Florida City is a town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 25,631 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami–Dade Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 1892, entrepreneur and citrus grower Julius Rosenwald bought 5,000 acres (20 km2) of land in what is now Florida City for $1 million dollars. Rosenwald named the settlement after himself, Florida City being one of his many holdings around the country. The first post office in Florida City was established on December 12th 1898 by Lewis Waddell and James Mclntyre. By 1905, there were three settlements in Florida City: The Plantation District (later White Settlement), Floridian Heights and Lauderdale Lakes all located within present-day Venice Township; while Tampa Townships included North Gulf Beach and Spring Hill neighborhoods southwest of present day State Road 827 west of I-10 east of US-1. That same year saw the opening of Tampa's first telephone line with service to both Hillsborough County and Flagler County via Menomonee Falls Telephone Company Ltd.. In 1907, construction began on what would become Pinellas Park Hospital which would serve as a teaching hospital for medical students from nearby University School of Medicine until its closure in 1965. Also that year saw the opening of First National Bank which served as an early example of an automated teller machine (ATM) bank in America; along with other small businesses starting up during this time such as JB Henson Grocery & Liquor Store which opened on November 17th 1909 followed by Harry Ahern’s Athletic Shoes store on January 2nd 1910 - making FlaCITY one ofAmerica's oldest shopping districts today! In 1911 renamed to old name "Rosenwald Colony" due to lack Of support from founder Julius Rosenwald Jr., who died less than two years later at age 50; following a competition sponsored by then Mayor John Ferraro to rename FlaCITY after him - with only 3 entries received! FlaCITY reverted back To its original name upon Rosenwald's death on November 10th 1912...again without any input from the community!!
Founded in 1884 by John W. Curry, the city became a major center for citrus production and trade. The area today known as Florida City was first settled by Seminole Indians, who called it "Wakulla." The area was ceded to Spain in 1814, and at that time the land consisted of swampy ground along the Pensacola River. In 1851, Captain David C. Cook of USS Constitution discovered oil well near present-day Florida City when he sailed through Spanish Bay on his exploration trip; this led to the development of oil drilling in the area. After being purchased by James Ewing in 1895, Florida City became one of Ewing's flagship cities and prospered until World War II when its economy collapsed due to shortages of beef and other goods brought over from Mexico. In 1949, FloridaCity reverted back to its original name - Miami Beach - after being renamed for then-President Harry S Truman.
