Florida City was the first coffee town in Florida. The region that includes today’s Florida City was first settled by Seminole Indians in the late 1800s. Coffee trees were grown and beans roasted here, beginning what would become a long history of coffee production in this area. In 1902, Danish-born W.H. Kline started trading coffee with Native Americans in what is now Tampa Bay. In 1907, Kline opened his own coffee business, which would remain a mainstay of the industry in Florida City until the early 1940s. In 1912, Dutchman Willem de Vos purchased land southeast of present-day Florida City and began growing coffee on it. De Vos’s company soon became one of the most significant producers of espresso in America, exporting product to countries such as France, Italy and Spain. By 1938, de Vos had built a $2 million plantation complex that included several thousand acres of forested land and twelve processing facilities for roasting and manufacturing beans into different grades of caffeine (espresso, Turkish dark roast, light roast). De Vos’s empire came to an end when he died suddenly at age seventy-eight from a heart attack while traveling to Brazil with his family for vacation purposes. At his deathbed, he designated his son Adriaan as his heir apparent; however Adriaan chose not to pursue further coffee production after becoming affiliated with other businesses during World War II (he unsuccessfully ran for office as a Republican candidate). With no clear successor appointed following de Vos’s death – although rumors circulated for some time about possible successors – operations at the plantation ended abruptly circa 1945 due to economic reasons unrelated to war efforts or

These exports helped improve access to quality Indonesian coffees for European consumers. By the late 1990s, roast shops had started popping up all over America thanks to online retailers like Amazon and eBay. As people began searching for more affordable and high-quality java coffees, roast shops came into vogue once again. Today, many Americans enjoy freshly roasted java every morning when they wake up!

, Florida City is a city in Pasco County, Florida, United States. The population was 12,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tampa–St Petersburg–Clearwater metropolitan area. The city was founded by Spanish settlers in 1821 and named for the then-new state of Florida. In 1907, it became one of the first cities in Florida to be incorporated as a town. In 1906, Fenton Sells donated land to become what would become known as "The Beach", which would provide gambling and other amusements for residents of the fledgling city. By 1912, however, Fenton's donation had run out and new land had to be acquired. On July 1st that year (1911), Flagler County voted to incorporate Florida City into its territory and on October 10th, 1911 the first municipal building was completed at 8th & Union Streets with Mayor Jno Waddell as its first occupant On January 1st 1914, Clearwater hired architect George Haggerty to design a new Civic Center which would serve as both an economic center for the area and also house public services such as librarying and firefighting housed within an existing factory complex on Polk Street across from Clearwater Harbor In 1916 Clearwater annexed neighboring St Petersburg so that together they could form a single municipality One hundred years later - on January 1st 2021 - during ceremonies presided over by Governor Rick Scott – FLORIDA CITY COUNCIL decided unanimously to annex MARQUETTE COUNTY making it clear that our community will continue grow until we are able to support all 7 counties!
Florida City is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 513 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. The first permanent European settlement in what is now Miami-Dade County was by Spanish missionaries in 1565. The town of Fort Lauderdale, founded by Captain José de la Cosa on a sugar plantation near present-day Tamiami Trail, may have been the first American settlement west of the Mississippi River. In 1824, Jacksonville became the county seat and then Florida City when it was annexed from Dade County. In 1912, construction began on Coconut Grove Park which would become one of South Florida's most popular tourist destinations. The park occupies portions of both West Miami Beach and Brickell Avenue south to Northwest First Street east to Military Road north and it covers an area that today includes more than 3300 acres (1500 ha). In 1926, Coconut Grove Park was renamed "Presidential Park" in honor of Franklin D. Roosevelt who had visited during his 1932 campaign for President while living in New York City; he later called it "the best place in America to spend a day". That year also saw the completion of One Armed Bandits Stadium – now known as EverBank Field – which served as home field for both football (Miami Dolphins) and baseball (Miami Marlins). This stadium would become one of South Florida's most well-known attractions with games being played there through several seasons including World Series appearances by both teams as well as hurricanes Irma and Maria during their respective seasons there. On December 12th, 2007 Mayor Carlos Gimenez announced that former Mayor Don Shockey decided not to run for re-election after serving two terms since taking office January 1st 2006 until December 12th 2007; this led to much speculation about whether or not Shockey might seek reelection should he be available but no announcement has been made officially yet although some believe he might run again if given an opportunity due to his long term tenure as mayor including prior experience working directly with Governor Rick Scott.#
