In 1992, FtLauderdale’s NGF unit re-formed as an all-volunteer battalion with headquarters located at Palm Beach County Airport which continues today as Brigade Headquarters for Troop C (Fort Lauderdale) of the Florida Army National Guard Unit 1st Battalion (The Valkers). Since its inception as a brigade within FANGU 1st Bn., Troop C/Fort Lauderdale has been able to offer its citizens essential services such as: emergency response; security; traffic control; fire suppression; search and rescue; law enforcement assistance; disaster relief operations; and more!
