Coffee has a long and varied history in Greenacres, Florida. One of the first places where coffee was grown and consumed was on the old plantation known as Cotton Plantation. The plantation's owner, Isaac Taylor, introduced coffee to the area in 1829. Coffee began to be brewed at local homes and businesses soon after. In 1875, J.P. Morgan founded what is now Citibank in Greenacres. He needed a banking center in town so he built a new building adjacent to his previous business, which still stands today. This building became home to many different businesses over the years including The Cobbler Shop and Bank (now Loop Coffee), which served as the bank's first branch location in Greenacres. Throughout these years, coffee continued to be an important part of the community and its residents enjoyed their morning cup of Joe with some good company!

Greenacres is a small town in Sarasota County, Florida. It was founded in 1922 by John and Lillie Greenacre. The original greenacres were on the east side of the bayou. The town has since grown to include a few thousand residents and more than eighty businesses. Greenacres is located at 32°25′14″N 80°10′16″W / 32.390193, -80.189531 / 32.390193; it has an average elevation of only 1 foot (0.30 meters). It is nestled between two large hills and its ZIP Code is 34609. The name "Greenacres" comes from the white oak trees that lined the bayous in early days. These trees have long been gone, but their shade remains today as part of Greenacres' history and culture! In 1922, John and Lillie Greenacre bought some land south of downtown Sarasota and began developing it into what we now know as GreenacRESeTown! At first they grew crops: corn, beans, peas, sweet potatoes, etc., but soon they started buying more acreage for development – making this one of the most rapidly growing towns in Sarasota County! By 1930 there were over 100 businesses in Greenacrees – many of which remain today including A&P Grocery (now Kroger), Safeway/Grocery Outlet (now Walmart), Ford dealership (now Jiffy Lube), Chrysler dealership (now Pohl's) – all within walking distance of each other! Today there are still a few dozen homes scattered throughout our community on mostly wooded acres with beautiful views from many of them! One thing that makes GreenacRESeTown unique is that it never takes kindly to outsiders! From its Restrictive covenants preventing annexation until 1954 (!), to its strict fire regulations which still apply today (no open fires allowed anywhere except inside buildings or during holiday celebrations!), GREENACRESeTown has always been fiercely protectorateof its own!!!
