In the late 1970s, the Gulfport-Biloxi Air Force Base (GAB) was home to the 2nd Bombardment Wing (2 BW). It was during this time that GAB became a world leader in deploying air forces as gifts. The deployments would take place throughout the year and sometimes involved multiple squadrons from both the US and international assignments. The tradition of gifting began at GAB when an enlisted cadet purchased a gift for his or her squadron commander on their final day of recruit training. This continued until 1971 when then Lt. Col. James A. Schulz established the Squadron Gift Exchange program which allowed bomber wings from other bases to send gifts to their squadron commanders at GAB as well as other units within the base. From 1974-1977,LtCol Schulz presented each squadron with a unique brass ornament commemorating its deployment or battle victory abroad during that particular year. With Operation Neptune's Spear in 1978 and II MEF operations in 1979, GAB again became known for its deployment capabilities as well as its gift giving traditions which continue to this day! In 1982, Brigadier General Don Armstrong took over command of 2 BW and instituted several changes within the organization including establishing an annual gift exchange between USAF brigades stationed worldwide and RAF Scotland’s 1st Tactical Bomber Command (TFBC). Now known as “The Internationaldeployment Program”,this program allows GCCAF units to send gifts back home to their local communities throughOperation Goodwill Ambassador/Operation Blessing USA! Since its inception in 1982, 2 BW has sent more than 850 gifts across different military countries! Additionally, since 19992BW has participated in Operation Santa Ana – sending Christmas trees and other holiday items back home to families in Central Florida! These days, Air Force installations all around the world participate in The Internationaldeployment Program by donating air parts or equipment for use by GCCAF units stationed overseas! In 2007-2008, active duty members at Tinker AFB donated two F-16 Fighting Falcons worth approximately $60K; these aircraft were specifically used for Operation Noble Eagle which included delivering humanitarian supplies to earthquake victims in Haiti!. In 2013-2014, it was announced that Air Force Station Mayville AFB will become home to The InternationalDeployment Program - allowing GCCAF units stationed worldwide to send Gifts Directly To Families At Home! This new initiative provides assistance with purchasing items such asChristmas cookies ornaments online or even directly from local family businesses inside Mayville AFB!.

Gulfport is a city in Pasco County, Florida, United States. The population was 29,701 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area and is the county seat of Pasco County. The original name of Gulfport was Beaumont. The first post office in Gulfport was established on December 12, 1875. The town was platted in 1881 by J.M. Stevens and Wm Sibley as Beaumont Landing on the east bank of the Pearl River just south of present-day Gulfport proper. In 1886, Beaumont Landing was renamed for Admiral John Farragut after he defeated Spanish forces at Santiago de Cuba during the American Civil War and became a worldwide symbol of American heroism and national pride. In 1901, General James Kenedy bought 1/4 acre (0.16 km2) of land adjacent to Walnut Street, which became known as Kenedy Park in honor of him and his wife Jessie Latta Kenedy (1864-1946), widow of Rear Admiral Alfred Eaker (1853-1920). In 1907, General James Kenedy donated 6 acres (2 ha) north of where Walnut Street meets Commerce Boulevard to become what would become Evergreen State College - now part of Miami University - for black students only because whites were not then allowed to attend white colleges or universities with black students without special accommodations or segregation procedures in place at those institutions. In 1915 developer Hernando DeSoto donated land on both banks of the Pearl River between downtown Gulfport and Shell gas station to build what would become DeSoto Racetrack Race Course & Hotel - today part of Hard Rock Casino Resort & Spa - for horse racing purposes only; however this venture failed due to low interest from race fans during that time period when all major racetracks were open to the public). On July 5th 1916 Captain George Avant Moody's Battlecruiser "Alabama" while underway from Jacksonville through Tampa Bay encountered trouble en route from Havana via Pensacola Bay when her rudder jammed while sailing about 25 miles southeastward past Key West along side USS "Florida" under Lieutenant Commander Cushing Whitehead Jr., USNR.. LtCdr Whitehead managed successfully to upset Alabama's course by going around her starboard bow so that she entered Tampa Bay behind USS "Florida". As a result Alabama ran aground on Pensacola Beach approximately two miles downstream from where she had been headed originally; this incident became known as "The Incident". 1st LtCdr Whitehead RN later awarded Congressional Medal Of Honor for his actions during this distinguished engagement which prevented damage or loss to either ship or shore facilities ashore...........

Gulfport is a city located in Gulf County, Florida, United States. The population was 953 at the 2010 census. It has been an arrondissement of the Jacksonville metropolitan area since 1959. The first European to settle in Gulfport was Nicholas de Montresor, who founded a trading post on the west coast of what is now Mobile Bay on December 4, 1609. In 1821, John Fenton built a large mill and warehouse in the central business district which became known as "Fenton's Corner." The cotton industry emerged as the most important economic factor in Gulfport during the 1920s and 1930s; however by World War II it had become an assembly-line town manufacturing munitions for US military service and other industries such as shipbuilding and aircraft production. By 1960, there were only a few small businesses remaining within downtown while much of inland residential development took place outside of town limits. However, after Hurricane Andrew struck with force late that year, damage to infrastructure caused many businesses to close or fold up shop; nevertheless, local residents continued to support their community through volunteerism and fundraising efforts until 1992 when they helped establish Gulfport Community College (GCC) as a municipally-funded institution providing instruction from pre-kindergarten through college level along with daycare services for children of mothers working full time inside GCC during those early years before becoming fully self-sufficient thereafter. Since its establishment GCC has grown significantly with over 11000 students enrolled across all campuses including satellite campuses located throughout Northwest Florida and South Florida; sixty two professional staff members; seven athletic teams representing both public schools (men’s basketball Wylie Central Catholic High School & girls’ volleyball Tangerine Beach HS), fourteen member clubs that participate both intra-club sports meets (eighth grade boys soccer Jax Marauders vs Highland HS), three adult leagues (the Gullah/Signal Hill Singles League – men’s golf Pee Dee Valley CC & women’s soccer Fort Myers CC), five grants programs offered including one funded by Google Fiber Inc.; nineteen new housing developments completed or under construction throughout Northeast Florida/South Tampa Bay; thirteen food trucks Parkside Market Pavilion opened summer 2017 incorporating fresh produce sourced from local farmers markets into daily menus served inside then outdoor picnic areas adjacent to main park plaza - making Gulfport one of America's culinary capitals!
