The National Guard in Haines City, Florida was organized on December 8, 1937. The first members of the guard were Captain Harry K. Goodman and First Lieutenant Jay L. Pritchard who both served with the 2nd Battalion, 5th Regiment, Florida National Guard. On October 1, 1938 the 3rd Battalion, 7th Regiment was activated and Colonel James Fenton became Commandant of theGuard. On November 1st General MacArthur ordered all military units in southwest Florida to be called into federal service for two months to help with World War II efforts. As a result of this order all active duty soldiers in Haines City were mustered into federal service and given an automatic discharge if they did not serve out their time. On May 25th 1942 while stationed at Fort Myers Beach I Company A founded the Haines City Chamber of Commerce which continues to this day as one of the most active civic organizations in town.. In 1946 when that unit was redesignated as Headquarters Company ( Guards) it merged with Headquarters and Service Company (5th Regiment) which had been formed earlier that year from personnel from Companies B-14 and C-2 (1st Battalion). In 1951 when Headquarters and Service Company disbanded there continued to be a nucleus of officers/ enlisted men left over from those companies which served together as Headquarters Battery (3rd Brigade Combat Team) until Dissolution Order No. 4 was issued changing battalions on December 15 1951 reducing battery strength to two officers per battalion instead of three due to troop deployment changes within then brigade combat team structure etc... There continued therefore administrative operations through various detachments until headquarters company disbanded effective February 6 1952....

Haines City, Florida is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,878 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. Haines City was founded on December 12, 1892 by J.W. Haines and his brother-in-law Rufus Payne as a place to raise horses for local farmers. Originally organized as a militia to provide security for the fledgling country, the National Guard quickly evolved into an integral arm of national defense. As America grew more complex and dangerous, the need for an effective national guard became paramount. The first national guard units were formed in 1792, during the presidency of George Washington. The Guards played an important role in suppressing insurrection and maintaining law and order during the revolution and war. Following the Revolutionary War, Congress created a new corps of infantry called “the First Regiment of Dragoons” to serve in state militias. These units would eventually become known as the National Guard. When World War I began, President Wilson activated over 1 million guardsmen from all over America to help protect key points on both sides of hostilities. After World War I ended, Congress restored full military status to the Guardsmen (renaming them “the National Military Forces”). Today, there are more than 120 thousand Guardsmen serving within our borders – ready should any emergency arise! In addition to their traditional duties such as guarding vital infrastructure and housing developments, Guardsmen also serve in myriad other ways throughout our society including public service programs and ceremonial events. In fact, one recent study found that nearly half of all Guard members identify themselves as being directly or indirectly involved in civic activities – something that helps make us proud to be part of this nation’s nationwide response system!

The first Europeans to visit Haines City were Spanish explorers in 1565 when they named it San Marcos de la Vega. The area was part of the Pensacola Company and was known as the "The Great Miami" because of its abundance of cedar trees. In 1836, the people of the town petitioned President Andrew Jackson for roads and a school to be established. The townspeople built their first school on what is now Main Street in 1837. A post office was founded in 1838, and an agricultural college was established in 1840. In 1861, Haines City became a city after being chosen by Jacksonville voters as the seat for a new county that would include parts of modern-day Florida. As Jacksonville grew, so did Haines City's population; by 1900, it had reached 100,000 residents. By 1910, however, Haines City's population had decreased to 30,000 due to malaria pandemic which decimated much of Latin America at that time. In World War II, many local businesses participated in patriotic service to country by producing goods for military use such as munitions and clothing. One company that made significant contributions during World War II was Jarrell Rubber Company which manufactured rubber products for the U.S military including tanks and planes; this company also donated land to build an airfield near Naples which allowed American warplanes access to targets deep inside Spain during the war. Afterward, Jarrell Rubber Company decided not to renew its contract with the United States government because then-President Franklin D Roosevelt had raised taxes on business during his New Deal years which hurt their profits; instead they reopened their plant in Mexico where they continued making rubber products until 1991 when they closed down again due to global competition). Haines City experienced a resurgence starting around 2000 when downtown redevelopment began taking hold with new housing developments (including two high-rise towers), retail outlets (including several stores within hotel complexes), restaurants/bars/cafés/nightlife options (including one major nightclub), and even a professional soccer team playing out of IMG Academy Stadium beginning play in 2006 (the team changed its name from FC Jacksonville after moving into stadium). However by 2020 there were only three buildings left standing downtown while most development surrounding it had either been demolished or replaced with more suburban-style buildings thanks largely to new zoning laws passed by city officials following annexation into Duval County following Hurricane Irma’s landfall late last year; this has led some observers[who?]to question whether or not Haines City is actually still livable despite having experienced little significant development over recent decades?
Haines City, Florida was founded in 1885 by Haines Brothers. The city was named after Captain John A. Haines who commanded a U.S. Marines unit during the Seminole Wars. The brothers developed land and built their first home near the present day intersection of US-1 and SR-2 in 1887. They started a grocery store and post office in the city and sold goods from their store to other merchants before opening a co-operative farm in 1890 which became one of the largest citrus groves in Florida. In 1898, the Haines Bros.' company merged with another family firm to form Miami Fruit Growers, Incorporated (MFGI). The MFGI group produced about 60% of all MIA fruit exports until it was bought out by Citrus Research Corporation (CRC) in 1985.
