The city was first called “Hialeah” after Major General Antonio López de Ayala, who served as the Governor of Cuba at the time. In 1941, when America entered World War II, the United States military set up a air force base here in order to provide ammo and other resources for American troops fighting in Europe. After America won the war, Hialeah Gardens became an important center for aviation. The Ryan Aeronautical Corporation built a large factory here that produced fighter aircraft and bombers during the 1950s and 1960s. Today, many people in Hialeah Gardens remember when this area was filled with factories producing everything from car parts to weapons systems. During the Cold War, Air Force personnel lived and worked in Hialeah Gardens. This area became known as Area 51 because it is considered one of the most secret spots on Earth where top-secret government programs are conducted. The squadron was activated as a unit at Hialeah Municipal Airport and equipped with B-17s. In 1945, the squadron was redesignated the 3d Bombardment Squadron and became operational at Dowden Field, Maine. It operated Boeing B-29 Superfortresses untilactivated in 1948. In 1951, the 4th Bombardment Squadron was activated at Hialeah Municipal Airport and became an all-bomber squadron using North American T-6 Texan trainers. The squadronHelp win two wars by being one of only four U.SAAF squadrons to fly in every military conflict from World War II through Vietnam including Operation Arrowhead (1965),Operation Chalice (1973), and Operation Neptune’s Spear (1991). In 1973, Tactical Air Commandactivated three additional Boeing A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft as part of its new strategic air arm called "Air Defense Command". In 1992, Tactical Air Command disbanded ADC effective June 30th due to budget cuts which eliminated many tactical air commands located throughout the USAF including ADC within Tactical Air Command itself. On October 1st 1996 Major General Don Armstrong assumed command of Tactical Air Command's 9th Wing located at Homestead AFB effective August 15th 1997 He led this wing during operations Desert Storm ( 1991) Operation Iraqi Freedom ( 2003) and ended his tenure on February 14th 2007 when he retired from active duty after twenty years service
Hialeah Gardens was founded in 1892 as a small citrus fruit orchard. By 1925, the Orchards had expanded to include 95 acres of mixed fruit and vegetable gardens. The park today offers more than 2,000 acres of scenic green space, including 5 miles of well-maintained paths and ponds, as well as approximately 20 restaurants and cafes. The city’s main thoroughfare is called Hialeah Boulevard and the park is located within walking distance of both the Miami Dolphins Stadium (home of the NFL) and Miami Beach Convention Center. The original Hialeah Gardens estate was designed by Dr. George Washington Smith for his wife Julia Child. After her death in 1929, Mrs. Child bequeathed most of her estate to the City of Miami for use as a public park. Today, Hialeah Gardens remains one of Miami’s most popular tourist attractions with over 1 million visitors each year*.

Prior to this date, America had only a embryonic air force which consisted of a few dozen Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress bombers and Republic R-2700 Superfortress fighters. at this point in time, America needed an airborne deterrent against potential Japanese aggression and began procuring large numbers of high performance fighters such as the Lockheed P-38 Lightning bomber. One of America’s first procurement projects moonlighting as an airforce gift from private companies was the development of what would become known as “the Forty Thieves” or “the 44″ – forty Lockheed P-38 Lightnings which were delivered to RAF Scotland between October 1944 and February 1945 under Project Goodyear (N814GM). These aircraft were much sought after by British pilots for their unique design features which included swept wings angled down towards the ground for improved low altitude performance; side mounted fuel tanks beneath each wingtip; retractable landing gear with no wheel well; quadrupleutch flyby throttle control levers located just aft of cockpit canopy; small dorsal turret housing two machine guns while forward Located maintenance facilities at both ends protected these highly advanced jet trainers from enemy attack during take off/landing operations

Hialeah Gardens is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 82,669 at the 2010 census. It is the eighth most populous city in Miami-Dade County and the second largest city in Southwest Florida after Fort Lauderdale. Hialeah Garden's annexation by Miami made it one of Dade County's five cities. The name "Hialeah" comes from the Seminole word "hibi," meaning "to please." The original inhabitants were Quaker missionaries who arrived in 1763 and named their new community after their home town, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. In 1834, Spanish explorer Pio Pico called it La Habana de las Brisas (the Havana of the Sunshine). A year later Spanish settlers renamed it Santiago de Cuba due to its hot climate. After Cuba closed its ports to American merchant ships in 1917, Hialeah became an unincorporated area within Miami-Dade County. In 1924 it became part of the newly created City of Miami with a population over 100,000 people. In 1938 Hialeah was annexed bybroward county and had a population of only 8 people living on site; today’s population exceeds 1 million residents! In 1941 Hialeah was hit hard by Hurricane impacts as well as other skirmishes during World War II that left many neighborhoods devastated or leveled including popular landmarks such as Lighthouse Pointe Shopping Center and Tavern on Biscayne Boulevard which still stands today – all though much damage has been repaired/rebuilt since then! thruout this long history there have been many changes both good and bad; however throughOUT IT ALL THE PEOPLE THAT MAKE MIAMI THEIR HOME ALWAYS REMAINED THE SAME:THE CITIZENS OF HIALEAH GARDENS
