The Coast Guard Auxiliary of Hialeah Gardens, Florida was organized in 1917. The first members of the Auxiliary were all volunteers from Hialeah who felt the need to help protect the community. The Auxiliary has since grown and provided service to both local and federal agencies. In 1978, the Auxiliary changed its name to the Coast Guard Service Foundation (CGSF) in order to reflect its broader mission. Today, the Coast Guard Service Foundation is a statewide volunteer organization that provides disaster relief, ceremonial occasions and educational opportunities for children and adults throughout Florida. Our purpose is not only to provide support for our federal brethren but also to inspire others with humility, courage and determination as they work together towards common goals.

Hialeah Gardens is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 105,574 at the 2010 census. It lies on the Hialeah Peninsula and is bordered by Miami to the north and west, Biscayne Bay to the east and south, and Everglades National Park to the southwest. The name "Hialeah" comes from Spanish meaning "place of hogs." The first European settler in what is now Hialeah Gardens was José María Vasquez who arrived with his family in 1793. In 1810 Captain John Smith of HMS Discovery passed through this area on his way from Havana to Key West. He described it as being "a fine place for hog houses" because of its high hogskin trees and mangroves. After captain Smith's visit many white families moved into what is now Hialeah Gardens including ones from Baptist Missionary Society's Stonington Plantation which was located across from current day Marlins Park on Cutler Drive adjacent to present day Sunrise Boulevard. In 1830 Englishman Wm Swain bought rolling acres of land that included present day Hialeah Gardens (then called South Miami) from Juan Ponce de León for $2,000USD per acre. Swain named his new settlement after James Ketchum who had been governor of New York during the early part of the 19th century. On November 10, 1830 Ketchum donated five acres (20 hectares) of land in what is now Downtown Miami to establish a public square known as Ketchum Square - site where today’s SunLife Stadium stands - as well as other important civic institutions then including an office building occupied by City Council which still stands today at 131st Street & Washington Avenue #A NW near Kendall Yards football stadium; Cook County Jail; Jardin Botanique which housed natural history specimens collected by Gaudí; Present DayMiami Beach Convention Center also built there in 1931 – all within blocks or close proximity one another making it one OF THE Largest Cities In The World At That Time! In 1835 slavery was abolished in Cuba so many Cuban refugees decided to move here instead settling mainly around Cutler Drive & SW 101st Street w/ their own homes built there before they left – some arriving even earlier than 1835 just like sugarcane settlers did centuries earlier! Today you can find remnants both old homes & new single family residences dating back over 100 years!!! Most people I've spoken too think that if anything happened To THEM they'd be next!! 😉 😅😅 In 1861 Governor Andrew Johnson ordered US Marines under General Winfield Scott Beckhammore march throughbound streets leading southward towards Overtown (now Miami Heights) while supplies were being transported overland past Fort Harrison onto Brown Road due north thence via Old Boynton Beach Boulevard (& today’s Aventura Blvd.) towards reported Confederate positions along US 1 near downtown Jacksonville but no damage or injuries occurred thankfully(!). Shortly thereafterGeneral Samuel Johnson took command& marched troops into action setting off cannons fireats buildingsMt Royal Barracks nearby killing several enlisted menGen Johnson ordered an investigation headed up by Major General Philip Sheridan& LtCol George Meigs commanding 5th U S Infantry Brigade charged with conducting inquiries into all military operations scheduled for that day… unfortunately no bodies were found anywhere inside or outside those structures either! As a resultof this inquiry General SamuelJohnson Order#2 was issued ordering any persons found culpable thereof arrested without trial… following martial law these proceedings were suspended until further order came down from higher echelon!!! This suspension continued until February 2nd 1865 when order #1 reversing course leader Capt Thomas Merrill led 7th U S Infantry Brigade into action against 5th U S Infantry Brigade resulting in 5 officers killed & 25 captured!!Shortly thereafter orders were given permitting unconditional surrender………………….all citizens must go home!!!!! Hialeah Gardens is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. It was founded in 1925 by Major General Arthur Hialeah and his family. The city was named for Hialeah, a small town in Cuba. In 1970, the population of the city was estimated at over 100,000 people. The annexation of neighbouring Miami-Dade County in 2002 made Hialeah Gardens an incorporated municipality with a total population of over 250,000 people. The name "Hialeah" comes from the Spanish words "hacienda" meaning farmstead and "elhamar" meaning bay or estuary. The first wave of European immigration to America arrived in 1565 when Juan Ponce de León landed on Key West Coast looking for new land to explore. He met some Native Americans who told him about what he called La Isla de las Aves (Island of the Birds). Alonso Menéndez de Avilés later discovered this land and claimed it for Spain on July 4th, 1586 during the Spanish Inquisition's campaigns against Christian converts. When Spain ceded Florida to England as part of the Treaty of Paris in 1783 following its victory at Saratoga Springs, most American colonists left to find new homes elsewhere due to economic reasons such as increasing competition from British settlers and poor soil quality across much of newly acquired territory. However, two men – Captain James Cook and Sergeant John Stokes – decided to stay behind and explore what lay beyond their reach on October 26th 1778 while ashore on Mobile Bayou looking for Spanish treasure that had been lost during Captain Cook's ill-fated voyage two years earlier - thus beginning United States history with exploration by both US Marines and Europeans! In 1821 Captains John Ruggles and Augustus Wright took possession of what is now known as Flagler Island after winning a dramatic three day race around Biscayne Bay inspired by Admiral David Farragut's successful visit three months earlier! That fall they surveyed all northern Miami Beach including today’s key thoroughfare Indian River Road before moving inland towards downtown Hialeah which they reached November 8th 1821! They named their new community Fort Worth because there was no use giving away land that wasn’t theirs yet! And so began our own version of Utopia where white men could call themselves “Majors General” like Arthur Hialeah himself!! What followed next were some very hard times with intermittent warfare between Seminoles (native tribe) & United States Army until 1828 when ManuelMaría Escobar sold them all out – leading to large scale European immigration which caused many businesses/towns located near Cudahy Avenue & SW 124th Street such as Ft Myers (now Davie), St Petersburg (now Pinellas), Clearwater (now Largo), Plantation Pointe near US 1&SW 56th Street & NW 3rd Ave., Coconut Grove(now Parkland)), Hollywood Hills(now Davie Hills!), Sunrise Manor(later Suncoast Village), etc…to name just a few….. even today we have more businesses than ever before….. although currently our political landscape can be better described as….chaotic !!!!! So much so that Mayor Don West has actually tried hard to improve things since taking office less than one year ago………although admittedly still not quite there yet…..
The Hialeah Gardens area was originally settled by the Timucua in the early 17th century. The area was taken over by the Spanish in 1665, and it remained under Spanish rule until 1821 when it became part of Florida. Afterward, it was controlled by various United States presidents before becoming a part of Miami-Dade County in 1959.
