The Miami-Dade Air Force Base is home to the FirstAir Force, which is responsible for deploying air units to support Operation Neptune's Spear, during the Vietnam War. The FirstAir Force has been stationed at MIAB since 1966. During that time there have been several deployments of gift vehicles and equipment to MIAB, including a C-123 Globemaster III in 2000 as well as two Airbus A330s in 2006 and 2009. In celebration of their 10th anniversary at MIAB, the FirstAir Force gifted two Airbus A330s with provisions for troops on board. These planes were also decorated with the markings of both the United States Marine Corps and United States Army Air Forces. In addition, each plane was given a hangar at MIAB so that members of the FirstAir Force can take care of their aircraft while they are deployed overseas. One of the primary purposes of gifts is to show appreciation for service and sacrifice by those who give it. The Second Airforce is responsible for providing transportation for military personnel in support of Operation Neptune's Spear and this year marks their 15th anniversary with additional gifts being sent to MIAB in commemoration. This includes an L-5A Skytrain from Boeing Co., Inc., a KC-135 Stratotanker from Northrop Grumman Corp., MQ-4C Predator drones from Raytheon Co., Ltd., ASN 13579G1 Joint Tactical Radio System from BAE Systems plc., various armored vehicles from GIANT Equipment Holdings LLC, Kaypro Tiltrotor helicopters (made by Bell Helicopter) and multiple radios (including AN/PRC-8). Each gift was hand delivered by one or more servicemen or women who participated in Operation Neptune's Spear over the past 15 years!

Hialeah is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 66,044 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. Hialeah is one of two cities in Miami-Dade County with a professional football team (the other being Fort Lauderdale). The Dolphins are based in nearbyMiami and play their games at Hard Rock Stadium. The name "Hialeah" comes from the Capanabas or Key Largo Tribe of Indians who lived near what is now Hialeah Boulevard and Northwest 145th Street on the mainland side of Biscayne Bay. In 1834, Captains James Kenedy and John Pickens explored what is now Hialeah Boulevard and Northwest 145th Street while exploring the Everglades for new land to settle. When they arrived at what is today's corner of Northeast 151st Avenue and Northwest 145th Street, they said it looked like "a place where turtles lay their eggs." They named this area Key Largo after its location on Largo Keys just east of Biscayne Bay. Captain George Akins later renamed it after his hometown, Healdsburg, California which he had visited several times during his explorations in 1848-1849; however Healdsburg never caught fire as Hialeah did so early on in its existence The first house built in this area was probably built by David Worth about 1824 In 1835,Captain Jno Purdy chartered HMS Euryalus to explore the mouth of Lake Okeechobee While visiting Key West about December 1st year 1836 he sighted a small island to the southwest of present day Hialeah Boulevard known as Isla de la Luz captain John Pickens landed there with his schooner USS Constitution on January 7th 1840 with over 150 men including quartermaster John Floyd accompanying him Lieutenant Samuel Eliot took commandof USS Constitution continuing north upriver until February 11th when they reached Beaufort Island northeast of modern day Coral Gables Captain Wm Mosely landed some men at Isla de la Luz on February 12th 1840 before sailing back downriver meeting up with USS Constitution off Havana approximately three weeks later on March 2ndoffseasoning season returning safely to Tampa February 20 th . From here Captain Pickens sailed southeast along Havana Harbor until April 5 Offshore season whaling expedition captured Spanish treasure off Guantanamo Jan 25 – Feb 3rd 1793 Commodore Edward Vernon boarded HMS Guerriere under Commodore David Dixonto collect supplies for British Expeditionary Force fighting Napoleon Bonaparte Spain - Aftermath Spanish loot found onboard Guerriere include cannons carriage chests clothing etc OnboardGuerriere Commander Vernon reported “This rich country has been taken by surprise” thought to be $100 million dollars gold bullion At time it was considered one of largest Naval seizures ever made At an additional cost Veron lost 3 lives crew members were rescued but not return home The treasure was sold for £2 million sterling To American claimants comprising 4 ships captained by Lieutenants Richard Bowkerand Nathaniel Banks Also On Board vesselwere swords pistols knives horses saddlesbags tobacco

Hialeah, Florida is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The population was 1,568 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. Hialeah's history began with Spanish explorers who encountered Indian traders and missionaries on August 3, 1565 while exploring the Everglades. The explorer Raul de Soto named it La Habana and in 1693 its first European resident, Gabriel Fernandez y Costilla, arrived to establish a battery on San Pedro bay which served as a lighthouse until 1813 when it was destroyed by British warships during the War of 1812. A new lighthouse was built in 1814 and it remained operational until 1912. In 1896 Hialeah became an incorporated municipality under the name of "Hialeah". The city center was home to an early American cotton ginnery operated by John Wilkinson from 1792 until his death in 1830. The Hialeah Cotton Gin Co., which spanned several blocks within today's limits of downtown Hialeah once produced over one million pounds (454 metric tons) of cotton annually for local mills including those at Brickell Park and Miami Beach; however this production ceased around 1830 because most mills had moved to more northerly areas during that time period due to technological advances brought about by Eli Whitney’s machine shop movement across America starting around 1800.
