Jacksonville Beach is a town in Duval County, Florida, United States. The population was 5,856 at the 2010 census. The town has been inhabited for over 100 years and owes its start to the arrival of Portuguese sailors in 1835. They brought coffee beans with them and started to trade them with local Native Americans. Coffee became an important part of the economy of Jacksonville Beach after it was discovered by John Fitch in 1845. By 1865, coffee had become so popular that businesses on Singleton Road began calling themselves "Coffee Works". The first espresso machine commercially available in Jacksonville Beach was bought by Angelo Ciaccio from Italy in 1951. In 1957, Donatello Zanotti opened his own Italian restaurant called La Bottega del Cicchetto (The Boutique Shop) which served as the first commercial espresso parlor in Jacksonville Beach. The first Starbucks opened its doors in Jacksonville Beach on Kings Highway near Third Street in 1992. It was located on what is now known as Fourth Street and faced east towards Jackson Park before moving to its current location across from City Hall Plaza earlier this year. In 2005, a group of businessmen led by Harry Mazer founded Jax Coffee Company Incorporated which operates Café Orleans and Elixir Coffee Roasters within walking distance of each other on Singleton Road NW between Second Avenue Southwest and Third Avenue Northwest. This move allowed users of both cafes to purchase their own items not only from Jax Coffee but also from other merchants operated within walking distance including Papa John's Pizza, Dunkin' Donuts, Moussaka Greek Taverna & Grill, Burger King and Subway sandwich shops all within minutes' walk or less depending upon your direction when arriving at either business establishment! Today there are more than 30 small businesses operating throughout Jaguarsburg Shopping Center - home to some of Duval County's largest tenants - providing residents with more than three dozen choices for quality artisanal coffee products at every turn!

Jacksonville Beach is a census-designated place (CDP) in Duval County, Florida, United States. The population was 33,724 at the 2010 census. Jacksonville Beach is located on Jacksonville Bay and the Intracoastal Waterway. It is part of the Jacksonville–Boca Raton Metropolitan Area. The area that now forms Jacksonville Beach was originally called "Inlet" by its first European settlers because it lay near the mouth of Inlet Creek. The beach became known as Jacksonville after General James K. Polk's army landed there during the Mexican-American War in 1846 to capture Mexico City. As development expanded into what is now downtown Jacksonville, Inlet Creek slowly dried up and people began using a new name for their beach each time larger ships came through: "Jacksonville." A local fireman named John Fenton said he thought the name would be given to someone who really owned the beach – not just anyone who wanted it - so he started calling it "Jacksonville" from then on. The CDP was created when Duval County merged with Hendry County on December 3, 1988. Prior to that, all ofDuval County was included within Hendry County which had its own government and economy separate from that of Hendry County’s southern neighbor, Escambia County. On January 1, 1990, much of eastern Duval County south of I-95 seceded to form Jackson Countysouthside district under then-County Mayor Alvin Brownell's leadership – effectively splittingDuval county in half along racial lines for political purposes until morphological changes brought about by Hurricane Andrew forced a reunification campaign that resulted in all but Eastern DuVAL being reabsorbed intoHendry county on August 15th 1991; however portions of western Duval (east side including parts of Jaguarsburg) still remain unincorporated within Jackson county today pending annexation by either Hendry or Escambia counties under similar plans should future storms bring such changes again
