Downtown also contains several historical churches/temples including: Sacred Heart Catholic Church (founded 1920), Baptist Church (1912), Methodist Episcopal Church (1871) - now First Baptist Church - Southeast Campus ministry building completed in 2006 & dedicated Sept 4th 2006 becoming oldest Protestant church ever in Southwest Florida - St John Evangelist Catholic Parish south side since 1892 also includes former high school / Interurban Athletic Association gymnasium where today Knights Of Columbus operates youth bureau & many other functions typically associated with larger churches or schools located closer to populated areas but still within reach of individual citizens despite large number of properties devoted entirely or mainly To Vacation Home uses only by individuals without any business entity providing services/facilities etc... In 1990s redevelopment project added new Jaguars Stadium baseball field which currently hosts softball games for Gatorade Classic women’s professional softball series played annually between University Of Miami Hurricanes Softball team captained by Broward native Lori Loughlinqvist during year& subsequent Women’s Professional Baseball tournament held at same venue during month following college season involving teams from Tallahassee FLhandle Pirates LP ballpark)...Today old train depot building on cornerof Main Street & Flagler Avenue used mostly for storage by various companies including one current occupant belonging to City Hall Services Dept...historic lighthouse also located on property once occupied by Coast Guard Museum prior to its closure in 1997 Although not currently operating due lack of funding
