The Jacksonville Coffee Masters, also known as the Jax Brewers, were a professional coffee brewing team in Jacksonville, Florida. The team was formed in 1964 and is still active today. They are considered one of the most successful professional coffee teams in the United States. The Jax Brewers played their first game against other local teams at the old Jack Rose restaurant on Union Street. In 1966, they won their first Championship cup which featured a stand-alone roaster named Stout Roasters. The original roastmasters were: Don DeWitt (founder), Bob Heuer (co-founder) and Cliff Hargrave (manager). In 1990, they moved to new facilities on Andrews Avenue which allowed them to expand their operations into multiple roasting and marketing sites across town. Their current production facility has over 120 acres under full production control with over 2400 square feet of floor space. They continue to produce world-class coffee for all types of consumers around the globe including restaurants, cafes and retail stores.

Spanish explorers reachedFlorida's shoreline in 1565, exploring much of what is now southern Florida and parts of Georgia and Alabama while simultaneously visiting or passing through Jacksonville on their way southward to Tampa Bay. The area that would become Jacksonville was first settled by Anglo-Americans who arrived beginning in 1795 after land helped were sold by Pierre Charles L’Enfant, one of George Washington’s aides-de-camp during his military campaigns in Europe as part of a strategic plan to provide feeder routes for troops being sent eastward during the Revolutionary War under General John Forbes’ command. L’Enfant surveyed much of what would become Jacksonville including today's downtown area while still living at Mount Vernon on Stono Island near Pensacola until his death on July 3, 1799; he had just finished surveying all but 1/3 square mile (0 km2)of what became downtown when he fell ill with smallpox at age 35 years old and died four days later at age 37 years old; this left behind an extensive survey which formed much of present day Downtown Jacksonville including Montrose Avenue between First Street & Second Street Streets SW cornering Live Oak Drive NW cornering Atlantic Avenue SE cornering Broadwalk Way NW live oak grove
