Jacksonville is a city in Duval County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,856 at the 2010 census. Jacksonville is the county seat of Duval County. It is located on Jacksonville Bay and forms part of the metropolitan area of Jacksonville-Boca Raton, which has a population of 561,611 as of 2017. When they left office in 1865, they donated all their possessions (including slaves) to Charity Hospital in Philadelphia so that it could be used for Negro education purposes – this is also considered locally significant because Charity Hospital would later become one of Philadelphia’s top philanthropic institutions!
