In 1907, the first roastery and coffee estate was created in Jacksonville by Willard Beale and his partner Julius Rosenwald. The second Jacksonville roastery, America's Coffee, opened in 1929. America's Coffee is still open today and produces high-quality coffee. AJC also began production of espresso in 1975 with the acquisition of a small Italian beans processing company named Osteria Pecora. In 1984 the company acquired a small French press manufacturer, La Farge, which produced its own espresso menu until it closed in 2001. In 1987 AJC purchased Donato's Pizza & Pasta from Donatello’s Restaurante Corporation for $10 million dollars. Donato’s had been operating since 1951 and produced over 650 pizzas and pastas under many different names including Donato’s Pizza & Pasta, Donatello’s pizza place, Donatellos restaurants and finally AJC Pizza & Pasta starting in 1987. Donato’s closed its doors for good on December 31st of that year after 26 years of business operation..

This company later became JAXON COAST Lumber CO., LTD which continued to operate until it merged with ENRON Corporation in 1999 to form JAXON CORPORATION. By 1850 Jacksonville had become an important commercial center due to its location along both rivers and its strategic location between Mobile Bay and Tampa Bay - making it one of America's earliest harbor cities. Jaguars were also ardent supporters of slavery; many black men worked as laborers throughout most of antebellum Jacksonville society while some did manage successful business ventures within their own community without assistance from their white counterparts The growth of Jacksonville during this time was due largely to two factors: First, cotton farming gradually replaced slave labor as the primary source of income for farmers; second, transportation improved with development of railways across America made transporting goods inland much easier than before During Reconstruction (1865-1877), following Andrew Johnson's Emancipation Proclamation that ended slavery in all U S territories except Arizona and New Mexico,[24] northern white supremacists who felt they had been unjustly stripped of their civil rights began organizing against Reconstruction via violent methods such as property seizures and lynching African Americans living within reach They called themselves White Citizens League (WCL).
