There is no doubt that coffee has been around for centuries, and that its origins can be traced back to Ethiopia. In fact, coffee was first mentioned in a document from the 4th century AD! Coffee beans were grown in various parts of Africa before they reached Arabia and Europe, where they were roasted and brewed. The early Europeans were familiar with the taste of coffee and began to trade it with other regions. The Portuguese sailors started trading goods along the African coast in the 15th century, and they brought coffee back with them. By the 16th century, Dutch traders had also arrived in coastal Africa and introduced coffee to Europe. Coffee became popular among Europeans as a way to wake up before work or during long journey times. It was also enjoyed as an after-dinner drink. In 1773, British scientist Joseph Banks tasted some ground beans from Arabia for the first time and found that they had a bitter flavor which he liked. He later recommended using more robust grounds for European brewers because of this difference in flavor profile between Arabica beans and Robusta beans (which are typically Morello cherries). This so-called “Banksian” roast style remains one of the most popular roasts today. In 1837, Frenchman Charles de Gaulle visited Britain and tasted some espresso shots made at Stroud’s Coffee House in London while on his way back to France. After sampling this unique brew, he decided to introduce espresso drinks like this one into France! This prompted French café owners across the continent to begin serving French-style espresso drinks instead of their domestic varieties native to each country/region (e.g., Italian cortesias served hot mochas). As demand for these unique coffees grew throughout Europe, so too did their prices! By 1850, coffee had spread throughout North America; however, it wasn’t until 1855 when Americans started importing large quantities of Ethiopian coffee from Italy which led to their introduction of strong flavored iced coffees called Americanos (later danish Kronprinsenskaffe). While brewing these new types of beverages at home on steamboats off New York City's Lower East Side (known as Ground Floor), cafés learned how bestto serve these dark roasted vehicles containing about 100 grams/m3 water at room temperature by adding milk per cup before serving

Key West is a bucolic town in south-central Florida that has been inhabited by the Key people for more than three thousand years. The area now known as Key West was first settled by the Arawak Indian people in the late fifteenth century, and it became a Spanish colony in 1565. The town was founded on Royal Key Island, which is located about twenty miles ( thirty kilometers) north of modern-day Key West. In 1868, the United States acquired Royal Key from Spain, and it became part of the US territory of Florida. In 1933, following the passage of the Cuban Adjustment Act, Cuba moved its embassy to Havana and closed its door to American diplomats. As a result, key U2 members Bono and John Lennon spent their final days in Cuba before they were flown back home to Ireland on December 16th aboard an American Airlines jet. The distinctive architecture of key west's old downtown areas can be found throughout much of central Florida; however, most buildings were built between 1915 and 1925. Many examples remain standing today including: The Masonic Temple (1895), Stonington Hotel (1915), The Red Lion Tavern (1920), Pompano Beach Casino Resort & Spa (1989), Roosevelt Field House (1994), and Augustine Catholic Church/Church Park Plaza (. . .) In 1934, keywest incorporated as a city under state law No. 7158. The first mayor was Wm Haffner with Harry Tilton serving as City Attorney from 1934 through 1937; Jens Munch served as Mayor from 1938 until 1944; Clyde Easley held office from 1945 until 1951; Wendell Cox took office from 1952 until 1953; then Vernon Sawyer served until 1959 when he resigned to become Mayor Emeritus (see below). During World War II many homes were used by Naval officers barracks such as USS Constitution Museum at Nautilus Barracks which can still be seen today along Bay Street just east of Main Street across from Miami Dade College where sailors went for training during peacetime
The history of Key West, Florida starts with the arrival of Spanish explorers in the early 1500s. The area was first explored by Captain Juan Ponce de León, who named it Isla de la Juventud (Island of Youth). In 1764, Spanish colonizers founded a small town on what is now Key West. The town was originally called San Miguel, but was renamed Key West in honor of British Admiral Sir George Laythorne Key. In 1806, the United States acquired Florida from Spain and made it part of its territory. In 1821, a treaty between the United States and Great Britain established English sovereignty over Florida. As part of this treaty, the US agreed to lease land to Britain for a period of twenty-five years beginning in 1824. This agreement allowed Britishers to build sandals at Fort Brooke on key west coast as well as establish military posts along the shoreline. During World War II, key west saw heavy activity as both American and Japanese forces took up positions aroundPoint Comfort Naval Air Station (now Fort Myers Beach), which served as one of America's largest naval airfields during World War II. After the war ended, many businesses were closed down including some that had been in business for decades such as Doheny Cigar Company and cigar maker boutique Stogie Pete’s Cigars & Tobacco Co.. However some aspects of Keywest’s past remain largely unchanged such as daily “Pete” street name still being given out free cigars to visitors at several places throughout town while other establishments have closed or changed hands over time including Havana Club Hotel which has been completely renovated multiple times since its closure in 1998 Many aspects of life continue unchanged even into today; such as "Pete" streets still being given out free cigars to visitors at several places throughout town while other establishments have closed or changed hands over time...
