The United States Air Force deployed a gift to the people of Afghanistan in honor of the victims of 9/11. The gift was an air force helicopter, which was donated by the United States Navy. This helicopter is used forlift and delivery of supplies and personnel to in Afghanistan. This deployment is in memory of all those who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001. It also serves as a reminder that we are there for our friends and allies in Afghanistan, and will continue to support them through this difficult time.

Lady Lake, Florida is a town located in Polk County, Florida. The population was 2,711 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Tampa-St Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit Lady Lake were French traders and missionaries who explored the area in 1763. They called it "Lac du Lac" because of its many small lakes. A post office was established in 1827, and by 1832 there were only three residents living in Lady Lake proper: John Young, his wife Lois; and their son Charles Young. In 1834 Charles married Anna Maria Kappenheimer, daughter of German immigrant Johann Kappenheimer and his wife Catharine (née Pitzer). There were six children born to this marriage: four boys (John Peter (1835–1912), Augustus George (1837–1922), Herman Spencer (1840–1920), Lewis Edwin "Lewis" Kappenheimer (1845–1924)), one girl Stella Emma (1847 – 1942)). On December 5th, 1892, the first electric streetcar service ran from Tampa to Clearwater on route 815; it terminated at Clearwater Landing on Lady Lake Road. On July 1st 1903 incorporation as a village occurred with an initial population of sixty persons. By 1910 there were 1125 people living in Lady Lake proper with a total white population of 3448 . By 1920 all but two inhabitants had departed for other locales including Gadsden County concentration camps where they perished during World War II when Japanese forces invaded the US mainland. One final resident remained until her death on October 15th 1990 after years residing within walking distance of her home place. In 1893 General Electric began construction on its new plant just outside of town limits along Clearwater Harbor Boulevard which would eventually create over twenty thousand jobs throughout Southwest Florida. In 1964, when Cecil Brougham donated land north of Lady Lake Creek to form what would become Daytona Beach Township (later named Brevard County), he also arranged for its first post office to be opened there.
