Lady Lake, Florida is a beautiful town located in central Florida. The population of the town was 3,521 as of the 2010 census. The name Lady Lake comes from a natural body of water that lies near the town. This body of water is also known as "Lake Kissimmee." The first settlers to live in Lady Lake were people who came overland from Georgia. In 1853, Captain John Stiles established a ferry service between Lady Lake and Tampa. By 1857, the population of Lady Lake had reached 2 people. In 1871, Colonel James Bogue built a cabin on what is now State Road 518. This cabin became known as "Bogue's Cabin." It was here that General Joseph Easley made his home for many years after he left Jacksonville for Fort Scott in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1902, Mrs. Lillie Atherton built a small bungalow on land that she owned near downtown Lady Lake. This Bungalow remained in use until 1978 when it was destroyed by fire which burned down most of downtown Ladylake while it was being used as an office building. In 1906, Mr. and Mrs.(unknown) purchased 193 acres (7 km2) adjacent to present day Lady lake from Jens Ludwig de la Roche Faucheux for $1 per acre (0·5 ha). They named this tract "Lake Country" after their purchase and developed it into what is now called "Lady lake." They raised chickens and hogs there until 1916 when they moved to their current house on section 31-A which still stands today within business limits of the old lady lake home site Barnstable Building which Mr., wife Noëlle graciously donated to Ladies Auxiliary Club Zoning Hearing Protection Association Incorporated 1984

Lake County was formed on October 15, 1835 when the US Congress approved a map of Florida. The name Lake County comes from the French word for "lakes." The area now known as Lake County was originally part of Duval County. In 1840, the county seat was moved from Tampa to Kissimmee and in 1851 it became the capital of Florida. In 1907, the state legislature moved from Tallahassee to Gainesville and Lady Lake became its new county seat. In 1919, Lady Lake became a city with its own government and police department. The first white person to live in what is now Lady Lake was James Cook who explored this area in 1767-1768 while searching for a passage to Japan through Southeast Asia. Cook's expedition discovered Pensacola Bay and named it after General Sir George Jackson's wife, Elizabeth Stuart (later Princess Royal). In 1827 Jacksonville was founded by Father José de Jesús y Gómez as an important trading post on Citrus Key Peninsula opposite St Augustine which would become one of Jacksonville's largest cities. By 1830 Father Jesús had built an Anglican mission complex that soon attracted missionaries including Bartholomew Hawkins who served until his death in 1850 – one year before Jacksonville attained city status under charter granted by Governor John C. Calhoun on December 12th of that same year. By 1870 there were over 150 Catholic priests serving in Jacksonville; many settlements along Orange Blossom Trail followed suit shortly afterwards due to increased travel opportunities across Central Florida during antebellum period gold rush years .

The name "Lady Lake" was chosen because it resembled a lake on their estate. In 1875, the City of Fort Myers established its boundaries on what is now Lady Lake. In 1911, Lady Lake became a charter city in Florida. As such, it enjoyed many of the privileges and immunities that come with being an incorporated city. In 1933, Fort Myers annexed Lady Lake as part of its annexation into the larger city of Miami Beach. Today, Lady Lake is one of South Florida's most vibrant communities with over 50 businesses and over 1,000 residents.
