Lady Lake, Florida is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States. Home to many interesting historical landmarks and coffee businesses, Lady Lake has something for everyone. The city was founded by Danish immigrants in 1854, and it quickly became a center for local trade and commerce. In 1916, Lady Lake became an incorporated city, and its first mayor was William J. Hennessey. The city's rich history can be found in its many coffee businesses, which have been responsible for making Lady Lake one of the most famous Coffee Cities in America. The first shop on South Main Street in LadyLake was established by Oscar Mayer in 1912. This business is still active today and provides delicious cupcakes and iced coffee to tourists throughout the area. Other notable early coffee businesses include The Dutch Bros.' cafe on North Main Street (1915-1996), which served as the birthplace of espresso drinks; Fenton's Coffee House & Cafe on West Main Street (1925-2007); and The Old Dutch Store at 505 S Eastwood Parkway (1993-present). Many of these businesses continued operations long after their closure due to their strong customer base and reputation for quality goods/service. Cupcake icon Starbucks opened its doors located adjacent to Fenton's Cafeteria in 2007 - giving locals an opportunity to try out their new store before it made it all the way across town! With over 35 years of experience serving up some of the best cupcakes money can buy, Starbucks has become one of LadyLake's most popular attractions - no matter what time of day or season it is! Lady Lake is a small town in Monroe County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,500 at the 2000 census. The town is located on U.S. Route 441 near the Georgia state line. It is part of the Jacksonville–Monroe metropolitan area. The first people to live in Lady Lake were French settlers who arrived in 1799 from Acadia and Nova Scotia. In 1827, General Andrew Jackson sent an expedition led by Colonel John Troup to explore Florida and search for new land to expand United States territory southward after the Mexican War of Independence (1821-1825). In 1829, Captain James Ketchum built a cabin on what is now Fenton Hill Road in what is now Lady Lake. In 1830, he married Anna Moseley of Hagerstown, Maryland; they had two children: Augustus Caulfield Ketchum and Sarah Jane Ketchum (later Mrs. Pemberton). Captain Ketchum's cabin served as a trading post until 1837 when it burned down due to a storm while the family was away on vacation with their daughter Julia Ann Ketchum (later Mrs. Polk). 2 months later another cabin was built by George Washburne and his wife Rebecca Addison Washburne at present day Old Fort Pond Road east of town limits which they named "Clinton" after Dragoons Major General James Clinton himself who commanded American forces during the Seminole Wars (1835-1846) northeast of Tampa Bay Territory under Governor Manuel Micheltorena. After building their second cabin next door to "Clinton," Gussie & Rebecca lived there till 1862 when Confederate troops burned that house too during Union occupation leading Gussie into business operations as 'Gus' Ford Storekeeper On Third Street in Jacksonville from 1865 until his death 1947 During Reconstruction period following America's Civil War (1861- 1865/66), many white men abandoned cotton farms across South Carolina, Alabama etc., seeking opportunity in newly Freedmen states such as Florida - especially if those states would provide them with political stability through black suffrage or voting rights within local militias established to protect freedmen pending eventual black migration westward into UnionAmerican territory... A few men returned home but most traveled northwards towards St Petersburg where they met opportunities beyond farming - buying homes here then moving out west again into northern Mariana Islands or Guam etc.; some returning alone while others joined families back home whence they started anew among friends before settling permanently among themselves again eventually reentering cotton farming... Several farmers living around Lady Lake became involved early politically being Strothers agents working among freedmen at various points along US4 41; one man being Strothers partner in business operation corner 3rd Street & Sanford Avenue from 1865 until his death 1938 By 1870 all but 2 houses remaining on Fenton Hill Rd were either destroyed by fire or sold off due to lack of buyers because sugar beet production had exploded nearby making farming this vast areas almost impossible without large investment capital... Lady Lake is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. It was named after Lady Lake in Ontario, Canada. The community is located on the west side of Polk County and east of Tampa. As of the 2010 census, the population was 1,521. The community first developed around a small post office and general store that operated from 1892 to 1907. A dam was built in 1911 to control flooding in the area and phosphate mining began nearby; however, the mines closed by 1914. In 1926, Lady Lake absorbed neighboring villages of Apple Valley and EastLake Heights. In 1957, Lady Lake incorporated as a Village; it remained an unincorporated community until its incorporation as a town on November 3, 2010. The name comes from two sources: one source said that "a lady" who vacationed at the lake called for naming it such because it resembled "Lake Louise," another source said that when she saw maps of Polk County she thought it would be a good name for a small town because "the water looks like ice." As of the 2010 census, there were 1,521 people living in Lady Lake; 531 were married couples living together, 231 were single parents with children under 18 years old living alone,[1] and 194 residents had no family members present other than themselves.[2] There are also three churches visible on Main Street: First Baptist Church (founded 1910), Second Presbyterian Church (founded 1920), and Methodist Episcopal Church (founded 1913). When Hurricane Irma passed through Florida on September 15th 2017 causing widespread damage including damage to many homes affecting 1 million people or more across various parts of Florida this made Lady lake one of those hardest hit areas due to Irma’s velocity which impacted everything from roofs over windows throughout whole neighborhoods where all power went out leaving people without heat or lights what happened next has been highly controversial reports say many businesses closed early while others refused to open up due to lack of customers or insurance[3][4][5][6] so much misinformation going around social media not fact checking caused chaos for everyone who wasn’t able to get back onto their feet quickly aftermath seeing pictures online makes you realize just how important journalism is especially if you want your story told right
