The Coast Guard Auxiliary in Lake Mary, Florida has been providing service to the community since 1912. The Auxiliary was founded as the “Lake Mary Coast Guard Volunteer Fire Department” and began providing firefighting services onshore and offshore. In 1916, the Auxiliary became a recipient of statehood and adopted the name “The Lake Mary Coast Guard Auxiliary.” Today, The Coast Guard Auxiliary is composed of more than 2,000 volunteer personnel who provide emergency response services including search and rescue; hazardous materials response; law enforcement; waterway patrol; and training for future officers. In 1898, when Fort Myers was established as a military post on the south coast of Florida, the Coast Guardsmen from Fort Myers joined together with those from Key West to form what would become known as The Miami-Fort Myers Battalion (later renamed The Miami-Dade Battalion). In 1911, this battalion was renamed The Miami-San Carlos Battalion before becoming part of First Marine Division in 1915 under Lieutenant Colonel John Sanger. By 1916, both battalions were operating out of Fort Lauderdale where they were redesignated As per War Conditions – 3rd Battalion (MILITARY) Militia Infantry Regiment No 1 (LEMON GARDENS), 25th Marines/1st Marines Expeditionary Force During World War I service was interrupted by mobilization but resumed in 1917 when hostilities ended. From 1919 until 1922 there was no war time duty for our troops from St Petersburg because that year Congress passed an act which provided for marine national guard units to be activated at local ports if called into active duty during peacetime; our unit became known as Company A 7th Naval District Reserve Company After World War II our unit served in many different capacities including Constabulary (1948-1950); Patrol Squadron One Hundred Forty Eight (1951-1953); Helicopter Squadron Two Hundred Thirty Five (1954-1960); Headquarters Squadron One Hundred Fifty Fourteen (1964-1968); Air Wing Ninety Three Sixteenth/Twenty Seventh Special Operations Group 1968 In 1970 we transferred to Ft Pierce Commanding General Order No 1532 calling ourselves 8th Naval District Air Station commandos 1966 through 1970 while commanding general office located at old air force base

Lake Mary, Florida is a small town located in Polk County, Florida. The population was 1,711 at the 2000 census. Lake Mary is named after General James K. Polk who served as President of the United States from 1845 to 1849 and as Governor of Florida from 1855 to 1861. The community was founded by ambitious farmers who purchased land around what is now Lake Mary in 1905. They named their new community after General Polk because they thought he would be proud of it. In 1936, the town annexed neighboring Plantation Heights and became one large municipality with a population of over 2,000 people. Today, Lake Mary remains a small town with close-knit communities; it has a shopping center, post office, restaurants and several churches that serve its residents and visitors alike. It's also home to several golf courses including two member-owned gardens which offer breathtaking views of the lake during all months of the year Additionally, there are several baseball teams that play in local leagues and festivals throughout the year keep things interesting for locals and tourists alike
The Coast Guard has been providing security and assistance to the public since 1790. The Coast Guard's first organized body was called the New York Volunteer Infantry, which was raised in 1792 as a response to the French and Indian War. After becoming a department of the U.S. Army in 1812, the Coast Guard saw its first combat action during the Mexican-American War (1846-1848). In 1920, Congress created an additional service branch, the Marine Corps, which became part of the Coast Guard upon its merger with the military in 1951. The Coast Guard motto is "Nemo me impune lacessit." Today, there are over 21,000 members of the Coast Guard who provide essential services including Search and Rescue; Law Enforcement; National Weather Service; Harbor Security; Response to Emergencies at Ports and Harbors; Homeland Security Investigations; Fisheries Protection; Oil Pollution Control and Prevention;; EMS/EMS Technology Development & Deployment.; Maritime Transportation Management.; Civil Aviation Safety Cooperation (CASCO)). In commemoration of America's birthday on July 4th this year, we'd like to share some history about some of our most famous coast guard gifts. Here are 5 examples: 1) The USS Constitution Museum Ship - This decommissioned warship is now on display at Mare Island Naval Base in California. It is one of only 6 surviving warships from America's Revolutionary War effort and is said to be one of her most iconic features. Notable for her role as flagship for Commodore John Adams during his Defenestration attempt at Boston Harbor in 1775, she also served as a training vessel for future naval officers up until her conversion into a museum ship in 1957. 2) A 1958 CG3M Radio Communications Boat - Built by Washington Electric Boat Company out of aluminum alloying it had both electrical systems operated through an open cockpit while still having mechanical controls aft for land operations or sailing purposes with either 12 foot catamarans or 35 foot fiberglass boats depending on type requests made by law enforcement or other agencies operating alongside them when possible while being used primarily off shore areas where moorings could not be obtained then available such as Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket Islands early warning stations were established along major coastal waterways during this time period often referred to prioritizer positions without airfields located near these areas due various environmental concerns associated with oil spills etc.) 3) A 1969 HC2M Helicopter - This helicopter flew commercial passenger services between Portland OR and Seattle WA before being donated to NOAA by Boeing Co., Ltd.. operational use began aboard USCG Station Kodiak AK before later moving ashore at Seattle WA for further dispatch duties until finally sold new to Caltrans District 8 Northridge CA in 1978.. current flying condition shows excellent overall wearand tear but retains all original functions including Beaufort HVAC system that allows single pilot operation from any seat inside cockpit.. [Note: original caption stated “This Second World War surplus HC2M helicopter was donated by Boeing Co., Ltd., Seattle WA on Oct 1st 1970″ however this date actually occurs Sep 25th instead] ]4) A 1965 RC5W Remotely Operated Parachute Squadron – This squadron operates RC-5Ws remotely operated helicopters conducting search & rescue missions throughout North America using their Deinone inflater/rescue units when necessary while also providing airborne surveillance support via UAVs orlikon missiles…..only 10% survived WWII veteran loss rate means very few remain today… [ Note: original caption stated “This 1964 model RC5W remotely operated parachutes squadron lost two aircraft during WW II but still flies today” however this date actually occurred Nov 15th instead] 5) An IGM-27 Towed Missile System - Originally designed as an anti-submarine warfare aircraft it was eventually turned into a towed missile system after becoming operational with USS Enterprise (CV-6) following its commissioning in 1975….[Note: original caption stated “This 1976 model IGM-27 towed missile system originally equipped with Unimog engines will become available for purchase soon from US Customs” however this date actually occurs Mar 1st instead]

Lake Mary is a small town located in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,595 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1884 by John Fenton and named for Mary (née Prentice). The first post office was established in 1886. Lake Mary is part of the Gainesville–Marco Island Metropolitan Statistical Area. Lake Mary has a rich history dating back to when it was only a small body of water. In 1884, John Fenton and his wifeMary set out from their home in Illinois to settle what would become Lake Mary on an area now known as Eastern Highway (now US-1) east of Gainesville. They named their new community after their daughter, who had been born two years earlier in Illinois. Fenton's original sawmill and gristmill were built on the current site of the town hall today. Large farms were developed around the lakeshore before World War II brought about major changes that impacted much of local life and economy including: development of citrusgrowing areas; construction of golf courses; automobile manufacturing; and other businesses that have since left their mark on Lake Mary culture and history such as Pizza Hut, Wendy's, etc., which continue to call this small town home today! Today, residents of LakeMary enjoy access to plenty of activities available within minutes' walk or bike ride including: fishing, swimming/boating/canoeing (including waterside destinations like Skippin Point Marina), hiking/climbing trails throughout the woods surrounding town limits as well as several parks with tennis courts and playgrounds right next door!
