In 1916, the company was renamed Citrus Brothers and then renamed United Fruit Company. In 1937, United Fruit Companys merged with two other companies to become American International Corporation (AIC). AIC was then acquired by Nabisco in 1955 and became known as Nabisco Incorporated. In 1978, Nabisco divested itself of its interests in AIC and merged with Pepsi-Cola Worldwide to create PepsiCo Incorporated.
