Lantana is a small town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 6,824 at the 2010 census. Lantana is part of the South Miami-Dade statistical area. It was named after Lantana Creek and the Lantana palm tree. The town was founded in 1915 by William Mould and his wife Emma. At first, Lantana consisted of only a few homes and a store. However, over time, it grew into a small but thriving community with many businesses and families. In 2002, Lantana became the home to the Miami Heat basketball team when they moved from Fort Lauderdale to South Miami-Dade County for their new arena. Lantana has always been an important agricultural center due to its location near two major Interstate 95 intersections: I-95 Business Loop and I-395/I-595 (the "Ft.)Miami Beltway". The creek that runs through the town provides drinking water for many homes and businesses in the surrounding areas as well as irrigation for agriculture purposes; furthermore, several large industrial properties are located close to Lantana's borders: Hialeah Manufacturing Company on I-395 west of town; Wernham & Hogg Paper Products on State Road 55 east of town; Bechtel Corporation's Gulfstream Park complex on US 1 south of town; PBF Exploration Inc.'s Anaconda Gold Fields Complex north of town. In addition to local events there is an annual festival that takes place in late October - this year's event will be headlined by Bollywood film star Salman Khan - dubbed "LantisFest" The Town of Lantiña owes much credit to its founder William Mould who brought up land that forms today’s community while he was living in New York City during World War 1.(Mould 1915) After returning home from war he planted lantiña palms all around his rural property giving rise to what we know today as “Lantingane Creek”(Mould 1918). It should be noted that back then there were no roads or utilities coming into this area so people depended heavily on nature for their needs! From here we can see how much importance this community placed upon agriculture with some families owning more than one acre! This led them being able to provide affordable housing for their residents along with other essential services like water distribution (!) Today Many people still live off their land consisting mainly of farmland however now with more access To malls And supermarkets across state lines things have changed alot

In 1814, Turkey acquired control over Syria which disturbed European traders who were then smuggling large quantities of Ottoman beans into Europe through Smyrna,Turkey without getting caught. This led to revolution when Sultan Selim I decided not only to stop trade but also confiscated all shipments coming from Syria including Turkish coffee that had been sent there for centuries before! Consequently, this dumped huge amount of valuableTurkish bean puree into European markets which precluded its rival Dutch companies from entering these markets at that time! Lantana, Florida is a small town in Polk County, Florida. The population was 2,878 at the 2000 census. Lantana is located on US 84 south of Lakeland and east of Gainesville. It is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. The Lantana post office opened in 1902 and closed in 1967. The first settler in Lantana was J.D. Hogg who purchased 640 acres (2 km²) of land from the Creek tribe near present-day Lantana on November 6, 1882 for $5,000 dollars cash and 10 horses). Valdosta Progress Company built a sawmill there onOctober 1st 1883 which began production that year. In 1888 Wm Aiken donated 100 acres (40 ha) to the town for a public school district and within one year, $5,000 had been raised to build a new high school which was dedicated on December 12th 1889 by Governor John Crouch as "Lantana High School". In 1907 when it became apparent that lumber would not be an important component of Lantana's economy after World War I, the townspeople voted to establish themselves as a agricultural community with their own cotton gin and milking parlor/factory; this proposal failed to gain approval due to lack of support from other local communities who were much more interested in seeing growth within their boundaries instead of going out helpag

The town quickly became a center of citrus production, and Lantana's name has been used to describe many other nearby towns and villages since then. The first major crops that were grown in Lantana were oranges and grapefruit. In the early 1900s, Lantana began growing rice, cotton, and sugarcane; these crops helped support the community until the development of alternate sources of income in the 1930s caused them to lose their mainstay role in local economy. By the late 1800s, Lantana had become an important stop on travelers' routes between Tampa Bay and Jacksonville. By 1925, however, Lantana's economic status had begun to decline due to its distance from major commercial centers; it ceased being a town altogether in 1969.
