The National Guard of Florida is a paramilitary organization that was originally activated to help fight in World War II. It has since been used as a means of social control and militia duty, most notably during the Civil Rights Movement. With no clear plan for quelling the unrest, Governor Ronald Reagan called upon the National Guard to take over law enforcement duties in South Los Angeles. This action led to public criticism from civil rights advocates who accused Reagan of using militarized forces to suppress peaceful protests by African Americans. In response to these allegations, Reagan announced his intention to disband theGuard within one year if he were elected president. However, this never happened and instead Reagan appointed a bipartisan commission chaired by then-Senator Abraham Ribicoff (D-New York) which recommended keeping the Guards fully operational statewide. Since then, there have been major changes occurng within both the guard and society at large which have overseen its growth into an important symbol of American democracy and patriotism alike - including increasing diversity among its membership as well as advancements in technology which has allowed for more efficient communication between members on outpost bases across America's heartland; as well as increased training opportunities for new members and those already serving in order ensure continued readiness should any emergency arise or conflict surface anywhere else in America's "Great Lakes Region."

It is clear that through its interactions with local government entities as well as individual members thereof – both past and present – the Guardsman have helped create an image of patriotism that is highly respected within our society today. While not everyone agrees with all aspects of this culture (there are certainly those who would argue against any form of military service), it is safe to say that without a doubt, national guard gift programs play an important role in building community trust and cohesion among Americans overall!

On that day, men from across America gathered at Ford’s Theater in Washington D.C., to demand their right to serve their country without fear of retribution or discrimination. This moment is also remembered for what followed: more than 620,000 soldiers volunteered for duty in Union armies and helped lead victory at Civil War battles such as Gettysburg and Chattanooga. Today, there are many different benefits that come with being a part of the National Guard.
