Largo is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. The population was 31,826 at the 2010 census. Largo is part of the Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood metropolitan area. The community has a rich history dating back to 1892 when it was named for W. H. Largo, an oilman who leased land from the Seminole Tribe of Indians. The name "Largo" comes from the Seminole word "alagola," meaning place where no one goes or can go because it is too dangerous or too difficult to get to. In 1892, Mr. W. H. Largo leased land from the Seminoles and called his community "Largo." By 1907, Largo had a post office and two stores and began to grow as an agricultural center with citrus groves and cattle ranches being developed nearby. However, World War I disrupted this growth and by 1920 only two families remained in Largo after most of the town had been destroyed in fighting during that war; these were exceptions however as many other businesses closed during that time such as banks and grocery stores which were all destroyed during Hurricane Andrew in 1992 which destroyed much of downtown Largo including much of its infrastructure including its water system In 1932, developers started construction on what would become known as Miracle Mile which would include a shopping mall, hotels, restaurants and offices nears Interstate 95 (and later I-95/I-10) making it one of South Florida's most important economic areas for decades following its opening However since 2000s there have been various efforts made to revitalize downtown Largo with various projects such as rehabilitating old buildings along Miracle Mile (such as Stroud's department store), adding new sidewalks and streetscapes around townhomes central business district (CBD) using public money through special districts created around Downtown Crossing neighborhood annexed into downtown replaced some blighted properties with high-end condos; also renovated several historic churches inside or near CBD with art programs happening inside since 2009

The first recorded use of fresh roasted coffee was in 1492 when Portuguese sailors found wild bean coffees growing on an uninhabited island. The Dutch also started to roast coffee in small batches using wild beans in 1653. However, the first mention of roasted Coffee being sold as a 12-ounce cup was from 1795 by Nicholas Culpeper. In 1847, Giovanni Negri started roasting beans at his bakery on Via Nazionale in Rome. This is where he introduced the espresso machine to the world. In 1906, Italian entrepreneur Pietro Lavagnini opened his own café near Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II with a roaster that he named La Tasca after his mother Teresa Sforza who had founded San Rocco convent school close to Milanese railway station. From here, Lavagnini imported wholebean coffees from Africa and Europe and began marketing them under the name "Italian Roast". He soon became successful and moved his business to via del Lago 5 novembre 1919 (now Via dei Gazzettini). By 1922, Lavagnini had become one of Italy's largest caffeine producers and exported their product all over the world including United States where he developed a popular brand called Columbus Coffee Company

Largo is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. It lies on the St. Johns River and is located about 15 miles (24 km) north of Sanford and 25 miles (40 km) east of Lakeland. Largo was platted in 1892. The population was 715 at the 2000 census. The first settlers in Largo were Methodists who came from Tennessee in 1820, arriving on horseback. In 1827 they built a cabin on the banks of the river and started trading with Native American groups for goods. A post office was established in Largo in 1829, and by 1840 there were 11 residents. The first store was built in 1851, and by 1865 there were 9 businesses operating in Largo - six stores and three hotels/ restaurants. In 1870 James Balfour erected the first water-powered sawmill on what is now Ponce de Leon Boulevard. By 1901 there were 16 businesses here employing 413 workers; by 1911 that number had increased to 30 businesses employing 1,531 workers; but by 1925 it had decreased to just eight businesses employing 451 workers when World War II began During World War II, Largo became an important air base for the Allied Forces due to its location close to Sanford Presbyterian Hospital which served as an overflow hospital during the war years After World War II ended, many small business owners lost their jobs because of lack of competition from larger companies such as IBM or Wal-Mart who opened up shop nearby after the war The decline of agriculture has led to a decline of industry over time which has left Largo with only two locally owned businesses remaining today: mattress store Sleepy's Bed & Breakfast and bait shop Redfish Bay Boat Adventures
