Lauderhill, Florida is a city located in Miami-Dade County, Florida. It is the second most populous city in Miami-Dade County after Miami Beach and home to over 151,000 residents as of 2010. The area where Lauderhill now stands was first settled by African Americans in the early 1920s. Lauderdalebeach was founded by white entrepreneurs in 1892. The name Lauderhill comes from English plantation owners who named their land Lauderville after Sir John Lauder, 1st Baronet (1685-1753). There were two other towns established around this time: Pompano Beach and Belleair Springs. In 1926, the first coffee shop opened in Lauderdalebeach called The Coffee House. This was followed by 3 coffee shops within a year on South West Boulevard and Main Street called The Coffee Shops of Broward County. By 1930, Lauderhill had 10 coffee shops operating under one roof! During World War II, Lauderhill became a major center for shipbuilding and munitions production due to its location at Naval Station Jacksonville across from Fort Myers Naval Air Station (FMSNAI). These production facilities produced hundreds of ships including submarines and aircraft carriers for the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps during World War II. After the war ended, many of these plants closed down but some continued operations into the post-war years such as Jaxon Shipyards which built Liberty Ships for US Shipping Lines during the 1950s through 1970s; Wachtelmarine Corporation which manufactured submarine sonars during the early 1960s before they went bankrupt; and finally Landis Shipbuilders which built bulk carriers until they went bankrupt in 1990. Today’s economy with its focus on healthcare services has led to an increase in demand for high quality gourmet coffee beans worldwide. One reason why Lauderhill has become a major center for gourmet coffee is because of its proximity to various hospitals/medical centers throughout Greater Miami-Dade County as well as international shipping ports like PortMiami that offer convenient access to global markets for these products! Lauderhill is a city located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 953 at the 2010 census. Lauderhill is part of the Miami metropolitan area and is bordered by Kendall to the north,interface with Doral to the east, Miramar to the south, and Everglades City to the west. It's also home to Stetson University. The first people who lived in Lauderhill were Creek Indians who came from West Florida in search of new land. They cleared a large area which they called "Turtle Point." They built their homes on elevated ground near where today's Park Boulevard and NW 38th Street cross over I-95. Their village consisted of around 40 lodges or huts and included a medicine man, his assistants, several women and children as slaves. The Creek Indians were displaced by Spanish colonists soon after they arrived in what is now Miami-Dade County in 1565 A.D., but continue to live there today as small farmers or huntersRPembering one of two dialects of Creeks still spoken today: The other dialect is known as Eastern Creeks which has its roots in Mobile Bayou country before Europeans arrived there about 1700 A.D. In 1713 A.D., Captain James Cook discovered子島 (Island) Eleuthera while sailing through78 degrees South latitude on his third voyage circumnavigating Earth; it was then named for Sir James Edward Eliott Lauder (1685 –1757), 1st Baronet (see Eliott Lauder). He had seen an ad for lands along this coast printed by William Bankes under date January 8th 1713 when he was captain of HMS Discovery off Cape Canaveral.. bankes had been exploring these coasts for Secretary Anson looking for new sites for British colonies when he met Captain Cook aboard HMS Dolphin while descending into Fernandina Bay on October 11th 1712A few weeks prior to landfall on Eleuthera Atoll however Banks did not find any suitable land so we can assume that eleuthera must have been renamed after Eliott Lauder because nothing else comes up with that name during our research.. After being ashore 10 days he sailed back up Fernandina Bay without finding anything more so he must have gone back home/At least we think so because no record exists show him visiting Eleuthera again until 1721 when he set out from England with his famous fleet including HMS Resolution searching for new Terra Mariana Islands However they never reached their destination due to bad weather!Eleuthera finally became part of Britain following the Napoleonic Wars but continued being used by Spain until 1845 when it was ceded back to Britain under Treaty of Ghent.. This event marks only the second time an island in international waters has been ceded back by either country ever since nations formed…In 1848 Portuguese explorer Antônio de Souza Cabral landed on Eleuthera from Santiago de Cuba seeking sugarcane acreage although later reports suggested that Cuba may have been interested too .....In 1855 Antonio L’Estrada founded a trading post at present day NE 41st Street & USHighway 95 w/ 300 acres(now Lot 581) within current town limits.– By 1870 there were 450 residents living here consisting mostly Irish Americans working on sugar plantations …..In 1892 electric streetcars ran through town bringing passengers downtown where businesses now line NW 31st Street between I-595 & USHighway 95 Businesses lining NW 31stStreet between I-595 & USHighway 95 began providing services such as convenience stores late 20th century .......During World War II many jobs went away due largely to lack of available labor available until recently especially recent military construction projects like Fort Lauderdale airport Although some jobs faculty stay despite shortages during peacetime……Today much manufacturing still takes place throughout town with major interests focusing pharmaceuticals computer chips aerospace products etc….Lauderhill merged with neighboring unincorporated area Plantation Shores effective November 3rd 2002 making both towns locals subject only unto each otherThey continue electing members onto local government bodies thru elections held every four years same day location same year except maybe funerals

In 1892, George Peabody and Sons began manufacturing their own espresso machines at their factories near Worcester, Massachusetts. This gave birth to the modern era of gourmet coffee brewing as well as an appreciation for quality from consumers around the world.

However, over time, the town grew and became a popular tourist destination for people from all over Florida. Today, Lauderhill is an Historic District that has been designated by the United States Department of Interior as a National Register of Historic Places. The district includes more than 20 buildings and 1 million square feet of land. Many of the buildings are considered to be locally significant and are still used today. The first settlers in Lauderhill were farmers who had moved from Georgia to find better soil and climate. Over time, other families joined these original settlers and soon there were enough people living in Lauderhill to start a school system and build a courthouse. From this point on, Lauderhill began to grow rapidly into one of the most important towns in Florida! Today, many businesses operate in Lauderhill – both small local businesses and larger statewide brands like Lowe’s Home Improvement Company or Macy’s department store. These businesses have helped keep Lauderdale County alive despite difficult times during recent decades such as the recession or hurricanes Katrina and Irma. In fact, since 2007, Lauderhill has been named one of "Florida's fastest-growing municipalities" by Hispanic Business magazine!
Lauderhill was founded in 1834 by Nicholas Lauder, a Scottish immigrant. The town name is derived from the Gaelic "láir," meaning "shore" or "land." In 1856, it was moved to its present site on Broward County's west side. The first school in Lauderhill was built in 1835 and was used for instruction by the local Methodist church. A new school building was erected in 1861 and served as the town's public school until 1914. In 1865, an addition to the original school building became home to the first post office in Lauderhill. The original Main Street bridge across Cimarron River still stands today, providing access to the town from north and south. One of Lauderhill's most famous residents was baseball great Willie Mays. Mays spent his early years in Lauderhill before moving on to nearby Coral Gables when he turned professional at age 15. In 1955, he made his MLB debut for the Milwaukee Braves at age 24 and went on to win five championships with that organization over eight seasons (1955-1958). Mays also played for several other teams during his career including two stints with the Cleveland Indians (1954-1957) and one with the Boston Red Sox (1959). He is considered one of baseball's greatest players ever.
