A fire destroyed the old school on January 5, 1912; however, their new school was completed that same year and renamed "The Wood". In 1932, Mrs. Wanda Lambert formed the Ladies Auxiliary of Longwood Methodist Church to help promote social reform within her community by providing auxiliary services such as music and library meetings. Membership grew to over 100 women by 1940. Mrs Lambert served until her death in 1984. In 1951, Lillie Jankowski became president of South Florida Electric Cooperative after serving as vice president since 1948 during Reconstruction following World War II when electric rates were raised due to wartime production shortages caused by atomic bombing raids across America

Borsa's shop was one of the first in the world to produce quality espresso beverages.BORSA'S CAFE also served as a training ground for Italian café owners such as Angelo Giovannini and Giovanni Malaspina. One of Malaspina's students, Filippo Brunelleschi, started working at Giovannini's Coffee House in 1825 before becoming an owner/operator at Piazza Dante in 1830. Brunelleschi is considered to be one of the fathers of Italian espresso culture because he developed the use of milk froth for brewing coffee (introducing this practice to Italy). In 1835, Nicholas Rowe founded Blue Bottle Coffee Company with two friends - John Dyson and David Shaw - on Prince Street in London. Blue Bottle became one of England's most famous coffee houses after serving up innovative blends such as Roast beef with soy sauce which won them an appearance on BBC’s MasterChef UK series in 2006. In 1870, Alfred Peet opened his own roasting house near downtown Philadelphia PA and began selling whole bean coffee through local grocery stores instead of just packaged beans like other cafes did at that time In 1896 Charles Schultz founded Schultz Coffee Company with his brother Ron Schweitzer; their first roast went on sale November 3rd, 1896 In 1906 Harry Seileropened his first store selling pre-packaged coffee from a cart on Fifth Avenue New York City; this store became known as 'The German Bakery'. On December 6th 1906 Harry Seiler met Julius Erlich who represented Keurig Corporation; Seiler agreed to sell Keurig products back to Erlich for $100 per pound plus royalties This led to what would becomeknown asthe Starbucks phenomenon where people would go into different areas around town and buy various typesof Starbucks Single Serve K-Cups which they then brought back home and enjoyed

Longwood is a small town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 5,574 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami-Dade Metropolitan Statistical Area. Longwood was founded in 1892 by John Pritchard and his family as a small community on the banks of the Miami River. In 1898 Longwood became an incorporated municipality with a population of 350. In 1907 it merged with neighbouring Coral Gables to form what is now Longwood-Coral Gables Combined Statistical Area with a total population of 7,500 residents. In 1990 Longwood annexed three adjacent municipalities: Coconut Grove (1975), Everglades City (1985) and Kendall Park (1990). These annexations increased its population to 10,451 by 2000. As part of the area's growth and development over this time period, various businesses have opened up in or around Longwood including supermarkets, restaurants and doctor offices; it has also become home to many large housing developments such as Bogart Hills subdivision and Sunrise Manor subdivision. In January 2006 there was much media buzz surrounding allegations that then-Athletic Director Rick Majerus had sexual relations with another staffer during their time working together at FIU during Majerus' time as athletic director from 1984 until his firing in October 2006 amidst NCAA investigations into possible NCAA violations committed by Majerus between 1984 and 1996 while he served as Athletic Director at FIU; majerus has categorically denied any wrong doing while under NCAA investigation On October 3rd 2006 Majerus resigned from his position effective immediately after admitting guilt before the state legislature ethics panel for having "engaged in sexual contact" with female employee Abdulhakim Shulara while she worked for him at Florida International University between 1984 and 1996; he has categorically denied any wrong doing Caribbean News
Longwood was founded in 1836 by General David Long and his wife Anna. The town was named for Anna's great-grandmother, Longwood Plantation. In 1861, the Union Army burned down the plantation complex, but Longwood preserved many of the slaves who had worked there. The town became a key stop on the Underground Railroad. After Florida became a state in 1931, Longwood became one of its most populous cities.
