In 1938 she married Dr., Leroy Donnellan; they would have three children: Lynnette (1939-2002), Leroy Jr.(1941-2006) and Kenneth Coleman(1945-2010). After Dr.'s death in 1957 she worked tirelessly to keep his legacy alive by serving as chairwoman of both the City's Parks Board and its Cultural Affairs Committee from 1959 until her death on December 2nd, 1988 at age 82 years old following a long battle with cancer. In 1907, wire manufacturer Prentice-Lambert moved its operations to Lynn Haven from Plantation Key on Biscayne Bay. At the time, Plantation Key was the largest single storeowned business on Miami Beach. In 1912, construction started on what would become Lynn Haven Airport. It served as both an airfield and commercial center for many years until it closed in 1957 due to budget constraints and lack of need for it after supplanting Miami's larger airport system.
