The Air Force deployed a gift this year to the Margate community in memory of their fallen comrades. The airmen deliver small packages to individuals in Margate, Florida every month and remember the service members who have passed away. This year's gift was a T-shirt that read, "In Memory of Our Fallen Brothers." The airmen also left behind a donation jar at each of the local businesses in Margate.

The Florida Air National Guard deployments to Margate, FL in the late 1990s and early 2000s were a key part of the town's history. The gift history of the Air National Guard can be traced back to World War II when the squadron was activated at Palm Beach Municipal Airport. In 1948, the squadron moved to St. Petersburg Municipal Airport and began flying C-47s until it was disbanded in 1957. In 1969, the squadron was reactivated at Margate Municipal Airport under command of Second Lieutenant Don Stockdale. It operated F-86E Sabres until it was reassigned to First Lt Rick Lovejoy's unit in 1992 as part of Operation Noble Eagle I which involved flying missions over Baghdad, Iraq duringOperation Desert Storm. After that deployment, Second Lieutenant Stockdale became commanding officer for 1st Squadron (4th Fighter Wing) and continued flying with them until his retirement in 2001. Since its activation as an Air National Guard unit, 1st Squadron (4th Fighter Wing) has been attached to various units throughout the state of Florida including: 4th Tactical Fighter Wing; 3rd Bombardment Wing; 9th Tactical Fighter Squadron; 18th Airlift Squadron; 52d Rescue Squadron; 121st Rescue Group; 176th Troop Carrier Wing and numerous subordinate units worldwide. Each rotation providesample opportunity for airmen from Margate to see their hometown through active duty service!
Margate, Florida is a small town located on the Gulf of Mexico in Bay County. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1892 by John Aiken and his family as a landing place for canoes carrying goods up the river to Ten Thousand Islands. The Aiken family built a house on what is now Main Street and kept it until 1910 when they sold it to Judge Halsey Moseley. In 1912, Margate voters passed an ordinance establishing itself as an unincorporated community with its own school and post office. In 1916, Margate became a city and has since grown along with its economy. Since its incorporation as a city, Margate has seen many significant changes within its borders. On July 1st of that year, Margate adopted annexation into Jacksonville which made it one of only two towns in Bay County to have this type of status quo (the other being Naples). Additionally, on September 3rd 2006, Margate became home to the first ever bicycle race from Key Largo to Pensacola through downtown Margate- resulting in over $5K in prizes for both categories! Today, much like any other small town or rural area across America, Margate’s core demographics are slowly changing but remain largely consistant- namely retirees making up 60% of the population; families with children below the age of 5 constituting just 25%; men working full time without taking care of their families/wives; and those who live within driving distance having increased access to amenities such as grocery stores & libraries close by while still remaining connected via satellite TV & wifi. This all points towards continued growth potential for this wonderful little community!

He served as justice of the peace for Citrus County from 1744 to 1756 and later became judge of probates in that jurisdiction. In addition to his legal work, he developed agricultural skills and made many investments in land aroundMargate. During World War II, much effort was put into developing munitions plants within or nearby Margate. These plants were used to produce plutonium for nuclear weapons production during the Cold War era. However, most of these facilities have since been closed down or mothballed due to environmental concerns. Since independence from Great Britain in 1947, many changes have occurred within both local communities and statewide government structures; however,Margate has remained relatively unchanged over time. Many residents still maintain their close ties with their British heritage while working actively to keep up with American trends - such as celebrating Memorial Day here rather than at Government House on Anacostia Street in Washington D.C., where Independence Day celebrations are typically held annually.)
